On Wednesday, October 23rd, we visited the Harvey’s drive-thru location in Alliston. We ordered the following: an Original burger with NO CHEESE, fries, and a lemonade; an Original cheeseburger with bacon, onion rings, and a lemonade; a 4-pack of chicken strips with Ghost Pepper sauce; and two birthday cake pies. There was only one car ahead of us, and they left just as we pulled up to the window. We had the staff member read back our order because the total came to $41.87, and everything seemed correct. We paid, waited for our order, and quickly checked to make sure the pies were included since we had a 20-minute drive home.
When we got home and unpacked the meal, we realized the fries and Ghost Pepper sauce were missing. My Original burger had cheese on it, melted into the bun, even though I specifically asked for no cheese. The onion rings, pies, and chicken strips were overcooked. I’ve lived in the area for 20 years and have visited this location many times, but something has changed because the quality of both the food and the customer service has seriously gone downhill.
We called the store right away, but it took six calls and over an hour before someone finally answered. The person who picked up said we could come back to get the fries, but making a 40-minute round trip for fries and a burger made the way I ordered it wasn’t happening. He said he was the night supervisor, but he was completely nonchalant, as if he didn’t care at all about the poor service he and his staff were providing and said his manager can call back the next day
The next day, my partner received an email offering 20% off for the inconvenience, which was just $8. So they expect us to return, pay more, and risk getting the same bad food and service? The manager then called my partner that evening and again offered 20%. After a conversation, he “sweetened” the deal by throwing in an extra fry. My partner declined, and the manager just said “okay.” No other resolution was provided and no care that he just lost a customer. We paid $41 and had to toss $30 worth of food. Where is your logic Harvey’s???
I’m so disappointed in Harvey’s or maybe it’s just the people working today who don’t take pride in providing a quality product or service. These are the people representing YOUR brand. Do better in your hiring process because I’m tired of wasting our hard-earned money. Safe to say we won’t be returning to the Alliston...
Read moreI ordered on the mobile app, I do that all the time. Never an issue till I went to this one. It said that it will be 10 minutes, it was 4;30pm on a Friday night so it was empty in there. I sat at a dirty table wanting for my food. About 5 minutes into the wait someone came in and order a meal and got it within 5 minutes. It took them 16 minutes to make my food which was only a veggie burger, fries, a poutine, and a fountain drink. They only gave me one set of fork and knife, I need two because my veggie burger has no bun and the poutine was for the child I had with me. I also wasn't given a straw. So I when back to get that and had to wait a long time again. Still very empty and workers just standing there but trying to look away from me.
A teenager came in to work and they made him go clean up the dinning area. I think they were just not wanting to do it so they waited for a teenager to come in to do it. Make the guest eat in a mess. Definitely worth driving to Cookstown or Angus instead...
Read moreAnnoyed as I went in with a coupon deal; 2 can dine (original cheese) and they ended up forgetting my cheese when I ordered and then when I asked for cheese (like I had ordered) they charged me $1.70 for the burgers….when it was there mistake originally for not listening… Plus, there was absolutely NO A/C in the building and it was extremely hot in the restaurant, where myself, my kids and friends were sweating buckets, as it was like 28-30 degrees out…would appreciate the A/C be either fixed or turned on so if eatting inside, as we did, you can be comfortable…even just ordering in line was hot… Lastly…the bathrooms and restaurant were not cleaned very well. Especially the bathrooms…you could see grime and dirt in the sinks and toilets, and all around… Not at all pleased with the Alliston Harvey’s experience…need some changes for sure…haven’t eaten inside for a while so not sure I...
