If there was an option for 0 stars trust me I would do it. My friends and I love chic fil an and we usually go to the Vaughan location. But we wanted to try out the new location in Newmarket. This whole experience was not pleasant. For a place with “excellent customer service” I was not impressed. Since it was our first time we did not know how the dining service worked. We just went straight to the cash counter to order and then after ordering we found out how the dining service worked (you can only get a table if you sit down first) I then asked one of the employees if we could still sit they said yes. Two of us got orders pretty fast but they ended up losing our other friends order and finally after 10 min of waiting I said something and they were basically trying to say we never paid for it as we threw out the receipt we then showed that she was charged and they finally gave us our order. Tired and hungry we finally sat to eat. As soon as we sat down another employee comes over to us and starts giving us a hard time while we’re literally eating. She tells us how we should’ve waited to be seated and blah blah blah and then I tell her the other guy said it was fine and she kept on talking while we’re eating and obviously we’re not engaging in her conversation. Soon after we discovered a hair in the order that took the longest. I brought it to the manager and she said sorry and made us a new one. At this point I was really frustrated and my friend had lost her appetite to eat all together. When she brings me the food I ask for a refund and she says why don’t I give u a free meal instead for the next time you come in. I am certainly not coming back to this location so that wouldn’t be of use for me. I explain this and she gives me a refund but did not seem happy about giving me that refund at all. I’m sticking to the Vaughan location from now on they have excellent customer service and know how to handle...
Read moreI have been a loyal Chick-fil-A customer even before it arrived in Canada. When it finally came here, I was thrilled! I would happily drive from Newmarket to Vaughan or sometimes to Scarborough just to enjoy Chick-fil-A. Naturally, I was ecstatic to hear that a location was opening in Newmarket, making it even more convenient for me.
I first visited the Newmarket location during its opening week, and this was my second visit. Unfortunately, it left a bitter taste in my mouth. I arrived at 9:05 PM intending to place a takeout order. The dining room was closed, which I understood, but I was surprised to learn they refused to take my order even though I was already inside. The staff insisted I use the drive-thru, claiming a sign on the door stated that both dine-in and takeout services stop at 9 PM, even though they were still actively serving food.
I made it clear to the staff that I was only there for takeout, not to dine in. Despite this, they refused to accommodate me, forcing me to waste time going through the drive-thru. This experience was frustrating and disappointing, especially considering how much I’ve enjoyed Chick-fil-A in the past.
That said, I have to give credit to the drive-thru team. They provided exceptional service, which at least made me feel a little better about the whole experience.
Still, this visit has made me question whether I’ll continue going to Chick-fil-A. One thing is certain: I won’t be returning to the Newmarket location. I’d much rather drive back to Vaughan or Scarborough, where I know I’ll receive the excellent service I’ve come to expect from...
Read moreThis review is directed towards the management team at chic fil a Newmarket east. I wanna start by saying I’m usually pretty happy with the food quality and service and the quality of food is great so my reason for 3 stars is regarding my customer service experience today (May 15, 2025) at the drive thru. I’m not going to lie and say I had a horrific experience but it wasn’t great either. The individual taking my order was okay at first and I wanna say fair but after serving the car behind me I noticed that this individual and the other staff member working the drive thru demeanours changed and were especially friendly with the customer they were serving behind me. I want to think nothing of it and I want to give the staff the benefit of doubt and say they were close friends but seeing that made me feel pretty bad and wondering if something was wrong with me as to why I didn’t get the same level of friendliness. Maybe I’m overthinking maybe I’m not but regardless I don’t think it’s totally fair for employees to behave like that when serving customers or friends as we should all be treated equally. I don’t want employees to get in trouble but I want management to take this into consideration as part of customer service training and I hope my experience today does not repeat again to any other customer and I hope management takes my...
