Mary Brown's Chicken — Restaurant in Newmarket

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Marys Brown Restaurant, and it was a delightful experience from start to finish. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, making it a perfect spot for both casual meals and special occasions. The staff were exceptionally friendly and attentive, ensuring that all our needs were met promptly. The menu offered a great variety of dishes, and everything we ordered was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. I especially enjoyed the signature fried chicken, which was crispy on the outside and juicy inside - truly the highlight of the meal. Placed my order on the app for pick up at 8:30pm. My partner went to pick up the order and it was already ready at 8:20pm. The chicken sandwiches were soggy and nowhere close to warm, the fries were cold. Doesn’t help that the 2 cans of cold pop and the coleslaw, were put inside the bag, on top of food and the weight of the cans, totally crushed the sandwich and was on top of the fries. Who puts cold drinks on top of food? With the price we paid, I don’t think it’s too much to ask to use a second bag for cold beverages and salads! Not impressed at all. For the price, definitely not worth it. First and last time.

Staff was courteous and the service was quick.

Big Mary seemed extra big today, she was busting out of the bun.

Have read the other reviews and a common theme is obviously emerging. Food undercooked. My sandwich exterior and chicken inside was great, but it wasn't quite cooked enough to firm up the breading between the chicken and the crispy crust. It was edible, but a bit slimy. Owner please look into this for the sake of your patrons. Still giving 5 stars because the place was clean, staff was good, food was just probably another 20 seconds in the fryer from being perfect.

Very nice however to get something that was obviously just cooked right then instead of sitting there drying out and hardening in a warming tray, so congrats...
