Szechuan Express — Restaurant in Niagara-on-the-Lake

Horrible experience! Servers were pushy and not polite. Food portions were ridiculously small and the chicken was so stale/hard that it bent my plastic fork and a prong almost broke off. DO NOT GO HERE! For the price I paid, I expected a much larger portion. The to-go container they put my food in (I wasn't even asked if it was to-go or not) was incredibly small! I didn't even know such a small container existed. My container was filled to the halfway point of the height of the container (which is already shallow as it is). The picture I have attached is literally all the food I got. There is literally one layer of noodles just enough to cover the bottom of the container. Please do yourself a favour and go nextdoor to Big Smoke Burger instead.

When I went back to get another fork, they asked me what I was doing. I told them the chicken was too hard and it broke my fork. They then stared at me as I took the fork to my table.

By the way, I went on a Tuesday at 1:15pm in March when it is not busy in the least.

I am a student at Niagara College, I come to the mall often for lunch. I love Chinese food so majority of the time I will go to szechuan express. Today was the last day I settle for poor quality service. The food is very good, when warm. Today was not the first time I received COLD (not even room temperature) food. Also, not the first time that I was denied a cup of water. I don't drink sugar drinks, and did not want to pay $4.00 for a bottle of water when I only need one cup of tap water. The cashier gave me the poor excuse "we only sell bottled water." I asked for a cup of tap water, restaurants are suppose to give free tap water. After informing her of this she just shrugged, turned away and started playing candy crush on her phone. I literally walked 10 ft to Sbarro and they gave me a cup of water. Meals in this place are too expensive. Compared to almost half the portion size served by the competitors in similar locations they are way too expensive. Due to the fact that this outlet maintains a monopoly in serving oriental dishes in the mall food court, customer service has become below acceptable levels. After the order is placed the customer is informed that extra money is added to the prices in display board if paid through credit cards. The pictures in the display board are nowhere close to the real dishes served.
