Today I was craving some tasty sushi and Thai food so I decided I would go to j.t. sushi and grab some good eats. I have been a customer for around 12 years occasionally going to j.t. sushi to enjoy the buffet but this last experience will probably be my last unfortunately. I took my small family there to have something different and wanted to enjoy an assortment of Asian foods but when the food arrived it definitely wasn't love at first bite. All of the fried food and I mean all of the fried foods we ordered, popcorn chicken, gyoza, tempura and even the onion rings tasted like they were cooked in old grease and we're hard/dry as of they had been sitting under a headlamp for several days. I ordered my typical favourite crab rolls and smoked eel but the sushi smelled like rotting fish so I decided I would try it and unfortunately I did I immediately felt nasueas so I set the sushi aside and ordered teriyaki beef and some general toa. The beef had the texture of an old boot and the general tao was more like saucy bits of fried tendants and chicken fat rather then the more preferred edible parts of a chicken. I was very sad and disappointed as I have enjoyed thge choices and most of the menu for several years now so I decided to tell the waitress that I was sorry but the sushi smelled like it wasn't quite right and told her that the beef was to well-done for my taste. The waitress proceeded to say " sir that is not correverct the sushi was prepared this morning and the teriyaki was as well". I proceeded to say sorry and decided to order just a couple more items as I felt as though there may be something else on the menu that would be good but then the waitress brought over the owner and he said that I need to be 100 percent sure on what I want to order going forward because he did not want items sent back as he didn't want food to be wasted. I said I had tried all the items and eaten several of them 😕 and that I had been coming here for several years but he interjected me mid sentence and proceeded to state his point on how he will not serve me if I am saying it doesn't taste right. I was shocked as the bill for me and my small family was over 100.00 dollars and I have not only eaten more at most Asian restaurants in town but have had way better quality of food. Long story short I will likely never go back and I am now at home on the toilet calling the health unit because I'm pretty sure the day old leftover fried food and the funky smelling sushi gave me food poisoning. Sorry to disappoint but just know there are several way better Asian cuisine...
Read moreWe went last night (Saturday) around 7:00pm. Before we had our coats off the waiter asked us for our drinks which felt a little rushed. I ordered a pop and my girlfriend ordered a water which we did not get. We had to ask a second server after about 15 minutes for drinks. They brought me food I didn't order, they forgot an order of sushi my girlfriend ordered, the quality of the food is sub par and uninspired. The portions of chicken in my chicken udon were tiny, and the green onions were limp. The mango sushi sauce tasted like shampoo. The chicken balls and spring rolls were tiny, much smaller than the ones found at a traditional steam tray buffet. Things like seaweed salad, popcorn chicken, and coconut shrimp were good, but the sushi, chicken wings, and noodle dishes are lacking in taste and just felt thrown together. The food came out suspiciously fast which contributed to the feeling that it wasn't fresh. To be given a bill at the end for $63.00 left me feeling like I had over paid for a sub par experience. The atmosphere in the restaurant is one of uncaring. The television was stuck on the guide channel as if someone had put it on with the intention of finding a program the customers would like, and then abandoned it. The music was turned to a pop hits station which didn't set any kind of mood or contribute to the atmosphere. The staff were courteous enough but to watch them work they all looked like they would rather be anywhere else. No staff member checked in on us, no one asked us how we were or made any attempt at small talk. Simply put, our experience was a disappointment: the food was lack-luster, the quality was questionable, and the staff were disinterested. My girlfriend and I won't be returning to J.T Sushi, we would rather try somewhere different for...
Read moreToday 01/09/22 was the first horrible experience I've had at JT Sushi.
I have been going to have lunch and dinner with my wife here for 8 years.
Problem one: We were sitting and waiting for 15 or 20 minutes between each food delivery.
Problem two: After about one hour we had received all our items save one. This is completely out of the ordinary for this place. Normally it's fast service and good food.
Problem three: After getting our last food on second order we do a third order. This is where the really bad experience starts. After waiting 43 minutes I lose patience and ask the waitress why our food has not come. She then starts arguing with in front of other customers and in front of my wife and daughter about them giving us the food and that I was making this all up.
I then try and reason with this waitress by listening all the items we did receive and pointing out all the items that where not delivered. As well as letting her know the we did not receive any food for over 40 minutes by showing her the time stamps on the device.
She then doubles down on her attitude and essentially calls me a liar in front of so many people.
I then ask for the check and would not be paying full price for this service. She took off 15$ off and left me with 75$ bill.
I was still so hungry after ALL YOU CAN EAT Sushi that I had to go to TimHortons and eat two wraps and call that dinner.
I do not recommend this place anymore The service is bad.
Sad to see this place drop off from...
