Baan Do's Stir Fry — Restaurant in North Cowichan

We've just been to Baan-dos stir fry on James street. Let me say that the new owner and his team have really done something special with the special with the place.

The boba drinks were so good, just the right amount of sweet and the pearls were aldente. We ordered the spring rolls to start which we're perfectly crisp and hot.

For entree my fiance ordered the chicken teriyaki stirfry on chow mein which was a generous portion. Fresh vegetables, tender chicken and just the right amount of sauce.

I had the 2 entree bowl. I chose the Orange chicken and tofu with cauliflower on chow mein. The orange chicken sauce was very well balanced and not too sweet leaving g the chicken to still be crispy and lite. The tofu and cauliflower were equally enjoyable with a very pleasant heat sensation left afterwards.

I am so happy with our meals and we can't wait to go back. Well done Baan-do. Easily a 5 star experience....

Owner and staff are very friendly. We were a larger party of 5 adults, 1 child, and 2 infants/toddlers; the staff were very patient with us and extremely helpful in getting the kids meal out quickly.

Food was good, had the teriyaki chicken stir fry - mild on the menu is very mild. If you can handle a small amount of heat perhaps try a medium instead of the mild. It's nice to have a place with some very mild options though, for those that can't handle any type of heat at all.

Downsides are few and far between. Front door is very hard to open due to the pressure from the industrial range hood (needed to stop the place from being smokey), have one high chair which is great but unfortunately no change table in the bathroom.

bandos used to be my favourite food place with authentic and delicious stir frys, they switched ownership and the new owners and workers littlerally dont know how to cook, every time ive gone to eat there since owner ship changed its been a waste of money and the food gets thrown out because its THAT bad. Ontop of that they changed up the menu and took off the mexican stir fry which many was MANY Peoples favourite stir fry, if you think im just being salty, Ive been going to bandos since i was a little kid always ordering the mexican stirfry, the workers new me by name, the new workers and new ownership does not have that sense of service its so upsetting as i used to be a happy customer every time i left and now im leaving this...
