Disappointing Experience Due to Rushed Service and Order Errors
I visited Dean’s Shawarma on Friday 21st of March for a treat for my kids, as they love the food here. Unfortunately, the experience was far from pleasant.
The service felt extremely rushed, even though we arrived well before closing time (7:45 PM for an 8 PM closing). The staff seemed more focused on cleaning and closing up than attending to customers. Work Tables were being cleared aggressively, and it felt like i was being hurried and I was annoying them even though I didn’t ask for anything specific in sandwiches so as to make it as easy as possible for them, but the experience was uncomfortable and unwelcoming. . To make matters worse, there was a misunderstanding with our order. I clearly explained what I wanted the platter, but the staff was under such stress from the one blond manager that they didn’t catch that i was asking for the platter. I even said you’ve misunderstood, I said we are 6 people. We want the 6 person special… but it wax so stressful that I said well then i’ll need an extra sandwich won’t i . When I pointed it out, there was no apology or effort to correct the mistake. Instead, I had to pay extra for the correct food. The lack of care and attention to detail was evident, and it felt like the staff didn’t prioritize customer satisfaction.
The only positive was that one staff member making sandwiches was polite, but even she seemed stressed due to the other staff member (possibly the manager) rushing her to finish tasks.
Overall, I spent $65 on an experience that left me feeling undervalued as a customer. While my kids enjoy the food, I won’t be returning due to the poor service and lack of professionalism.
Suggestions for Improvement: Ensure staff are attentive and respectful to customers, even during closing hours. Train employees to double-check orders and handle mistakes with apologies and solutions. Create a more...
Read moreI was visiting the area from Toronto Ontario, and we stopped by to go next-door to the subway but when we saw Cedars, we thought we give it a try since it is a small business as soon as we entered the restaurant was extremely clean. The staff were very friendly. They guided us through the menu and we’re patient with us as we took a little bit of time to decide what we wanted We really appreciate the service. I haven’t had a Shawarma that taste so good in years and I truly wish this place was close to home. It was extremely fresh and like I said it’s been years since I’ve had a shawarma this good. The prices are amazing and super affordable! Give them a try!! You will not be...
Read moreI was regular there, food was always pretty good. Maybe one bad meal, but we all have bad days. I'm going to point fingers now; if the staff is serving you can expect good service with generous portions. On the other hand, if who I believe is (or was the owner since the name has change recently), I always receive half of of the amount of meat compared to what the other staff serve. A wad of napkins weighs more than my large shawarma wrap. I will likely return since the food is good, but if he is serving I will walk out. This is my only review ever and likely will be. Served ...
