Title: Extremely Disappointing Experience – Serious Hygiene Issue Ignored
I visited Browns Socialhouse Lower Lonsdale tonight and ordered the Sticky Thai Chicken, a large Cowboy Salad, and a bottle of red wine. While eating the salad, we found a long black hair completely wrapped inside the garlic bread, which was extremely visible. Disgusted, we stopped eating and immediately informed our server.
The server took the salad away, and when we received the bill, we noticed that they had only charged us for the Sticky Thai Chicken and a bottle of red wine, meaning they had removed the salad from the bill. However, what shocked me was the lack of any professional response from management.
Usually, when such a serious hygiene issue happens in a restaurant, a manager comes to apologize, acknowledges the issue, and ensures that it does not happen again. Many restaurants even offer something as a goodwill gesture to make the customer feel valued. However, when we raised the issue again at the end, the server casually responded, “I already took the salad off your bill ,” as if we were still expected to pay for food that had a hair in it.
This response is completely unacceptable. A hair in food is a serious health and hygiene violation, not just a billing issue. It should never be ignored or dismissed so lightly. What made this worse was the complete lack of accountability or professional handling from the restaurant’s management.
While such incidents can happen in restaurants, the way the staff handles them is what matters. Most professional establishments try to ensure that the customer leaves happy by offering something or at least acknowledging the mistake properly. Instead, we were simply told that the salad had been removed from our bill—as if it was even an option to charge us for food that contained hair! That response was truly disappointing and made the situation even worse.
I still left a 15% tip for the server, as this issue was not their fault, but this experience reflects extremely poor customer service and a lack of respect for food safety.
I strongly urge the restaurant to take this issue seriously and improve their hygiene standards and customer service policies. I expect a professional response from management, as this is not a matter of money but of basic food safety and respect for customers.
I will be sharing this experience widely and will not be returning unless I see clear...
Read moreThe food was good but the service was absolutely intolerable. Tables upon tables were being filled around us. They were served, the guests paid and left. Yet, our table experienced a delay in food service. We ordered a pitcher of beer and two appetizers to start. We received the beer, but the food didn't arrive for 2 hours. During that 2 hour mark, our server finally arrived to our table (approximately 3/4's of the way in) and notified us that the order we placed for our appetizers didn't make the kitchen. At this point we had not even ordered our entrees. To make matters worse, our table was a birthday table with 7 guests. Had this been any other dinner occasion, I would have got up and left, but since we had a large group and it was a birthday, and the fact that we gave the server our cake to hold on to, we just stayed. When the food finally arrived, we ate our appetizers so quickly because we were extremely hungry. Shortly after our appetizers, we finally received our entrees. After our entrees, they brought out plates and our cake, but was one plate short, which made things more frustrating. We arrived at 6:30pm and our dinner ended at 9:30pm! Our server was at least courteous enough to provide us with free appetizers, and apologized for the mishap. Nonetheless, after reflecting on our dinner, it was a little ridiculous how we had to dine for 3 hours. Our plans after the dinner was to go bowling, but that didn't happen because of the timing. I enjoyed the company with my friends as a positive, but I thought I'd shed some light on the experience we had...

A Satisfying Culinary Experience at Browns Socialhouse Lower Lonsdale
During my recent visit to Browns Socialhouse Lower Lonsdale, I was treated to a delightful culinary experience. The highlight of my meal was the perfectly cooked steak accompanied by a delectable pasta dish that truly hit the spot. The flavors were well-balanced, and the presentation was commendable.
The service was another aspect that stood out. The staff was attentive and efficient, ensuring a pleasant dining experience without any unnecessary delays. It's always refreshing to encounter service that adds to the overall enjoyment of a meal.
However, there was one minor hiccup in an otherwise enjoyable visit—the music. While a lively atmosphere is always appreciated, the music volume was a tad too high for my liking. It slightly detracted from the cozy ambiance that one would expect from a place like Browns Socialhouse.
In conclusion, Browns Socialhouse Lower Lonsdale offers a great dining experience with its excellent food and service. If the music volume could be turned down a notch, it would enhance the ambiance even further. I look forward to returning and would recommend this establishment to anyone looking for a satisfying meal in a friendly environment.
Feel free to use this review as you see fit, and I hope your next visit is just as enjoyable,...
