This place is a great option for Thai food. If you’re feeling that craving this is the place in the Dundas & Third line (Oakville hospital) area. I dined in for a late lunch and ordered a green tea and tiger-shrimp drunken noodles. To reiterate, the food was great, and it came with pepper sauce on the side, delicious! The Chinese broccoli could’ve been more evenly chopped though. Coming back from washing my hands I came back to a tea pot with a very decorative tea cup, ..but the teapot was sat in a little puddle, not too bothersome, but also the brand of tea bag wasn’t the best quality.
A few criticisms: the first thing you notice when you go to dine-in or take-out is the awards they boast on the front door, both older than ten years old. The atmosphere is good, a few plants like bamboo on the tables, and there’s some Thai statues at the entrance, however the walls are almost completely bare (with the exception of the generic live laugh love signs 🤦🏽♀️ ) but overall I’d say this establishment with so much history, the decor is lacking. They have two chandeliers, unlit, and missing two bulbs each. I’d recommend take out or delivery over dining in. Also for drinks I was offered soda first and, I might look young, but beer wasn’t offered and it wasn’t until I was leaving that I even noticed they served alcohol. Hoping for dining in improvements. Read moreWhen searching for a relaxing place to have lunch in the area, we found Bamboo Legend. I don't know if they are affiliated with the restaurant with the same name in Mississauga, but my experience here was very different.
The atmosphere is relaxed, happy, the restaurant well decorated with fake plants and colors. Stopping in there on a stressful day cheered us up.
The Thai iced milk tea is good, but maybe a bit too sweet for most. I enjoy a good sugar kick, but some of my friends found it just beyond their sugar tolerance.
Their food is fragrant and cooked very well. My Drunken noodles were nicely cooked, noodles were flavorful and toothsome.
However, the service was very slow. We waited quite a while (more than 20 minutes) for our main dishes to be served and the lunch ended up taking twice the amount of time we wanted it to, even though the restaurant was not busy. For that I removed a star.
Do try the taro fries. They are delightful.
Good for dates, if your date says the food tastes funny .. then they don't have the right...
Read moreBamboo Legend was such a disaster. To start with the waitress was very cold towards us. Her expressions towards us were like why are we there - she didn't put her heart in to it.
We were 4 of us. We waited for about 30+mins for our Tom Kha soup. She brought soups in 2 bowls first without extra bowls/spoons. We asked her for extras and finally when we started drinking our soup it was not hot and the soup didn't have any flavor. Once we finished, we waited for another 10+ mins for our main course.
The Pad Thai was put on our table without any serving spoon and since our waitress was super unenthusiastic, we grabbed a fork from the empty table next to ours. The Pad Thai was such a disappointment. Our second main course was Green Curry with rice - Green curry was given with a soup spoon and was very sweet. The rice was neither warm nor came with a serving spoon
Giving one star as thats the least one I could vive - wouldn't recommend...
