This is definitely a place where you need to go at least once!!! We were passing by Oakville and stumbled upon this small chai ki tapri as we were looking for some snacks for ourselves and our kid. We really enjoyed our visit here along with the food. We believe they can improve in some areas. Parking - they have ample parking available however they share with a lot of other businesses in the plaza so if you are going on a busy day you might have to walk a bit. Also, not sure if they have handicapped accessible parking available close by. They have also maintained really good ambiance. Not very flashy but something that is simple and matches the restaurant theme. The quality of some of the items we got was amazing! However, others can be improved. One very important note - they make Pav on their own!!! These are one of the best Pavs that we have had in the GTA area. This is one of the reasons you need to go there. We tried their Bun Maska, it was really good! Freshly made "masks". It felt very close to authentic Bun Maska, the kid liked it too. We also tried their Pav Bhaji, this is a must here. It was really good. Their Burger totally disappointed us. Thinking that a Veg Burger is extinct in Canadian Food joints, we had high hopes. Pls do not order Burger from here. The kashmiri chai and BHEL were good too but not the best in the GTA. Lastly, I felt that they could either increase the quantity/size of some items to match their respective prices. Understanding that this place is in Oakville, I still believe they are on the expensive side. The service from the staff was really good. They need to work on the handicapped accessibility to be more supportive. They neither have handicapped accessible door or washroom available. All in all a family vegetarian chai tapri where you can go to spend time with friends or family.

I recently visited Chai Pani, a restaurant specializing in Indian street food, and I must say, it was an unforgettable experience. The warm lighting, vibrant decor, and energetic music created an inviting atmosphere that perfectly complemented the dining experience. The menu boasted an impressive array of street food delicacies, and I decided to try their Pav Bhaji. I was not disappointed. The bhaji was a beautiful medley of flavors - spicy, tangy, and rich - with perfectly cooked vegetables that still retained their texture. The accompanying pav was buttery and soft, just the way it should be. The dish was served in a generous portion, leaving me pleasantly full and satisfied. However, I did find the prices to be on the higher side for street food cuisine. While the quality and taste were exceptional, the pricing might deter some customers from experiencing this otherwise delightful culinary adventure. That being said, the substantial portions did help justify the price to some extent. The staff were friendly, attentive, and well-versed with the menu. Their recommendations and prompt service contributed to a smooth and enjoyable dining experience. In conclusion, Chai Pani is a must-visit for those seeking to relish authentic Indian street food in a vibrant and welcoming setting. The delicious flavors, ample portions, and delightful ambiance make it worth trying, despite the slightly premium pricing. I look forward to returning and exploring more of their tempting offerings.

The basic rule of branding is that if you name your outlet after chai, first thing you should focus on is chai. Rest everything comes after that. Chai Pani fails to fulfil this very rule. If you are a Chai fanatic, you will find chai to be pretty basic here. The cutting chai is made and stored in a heated kettle for some time (I believe around 30 mins) before they make a new batch. So if you are lucky and got the freshest newly made chai, it is good but the one that is kept stagnant is nowhere close to bearable. Cardamom chai comes out of machine so it’s the same taste every time. There are few other chai varieties too but nothing extraordinary. Nothing extraordinary about the chai. However the snacks served are pretty good. Everything is vegetarian. Ambience is good. Servers are welcoming. It is a nice place to visit and hang out if you don’t care about the chai but if it is primarily for chai then… try it once to see if it suits your taste buds.

First time we went - Great little place!..* loved it. Service was fast Kids have allergies so they gave me things separately. Everything we ordered to go and separate so this was easy. Super friendly the lady came after to check on us. Very satisfied. Thank you we will be back!!

Second time came in *…Service was very slow. The pani from the pani puri poured out in the bag. They forgot items in the order I got up to grab what was missing twice so this was unfortunate. Looked like they were very very busy hoping they can have more staff up front. Had misinformation about the Sev for my son with allergies but they apologized. I caught it in time. Just remember guys the Sev Puri has peanuts for those who are allergic. The lady at the counter was so sweet and understanding of her mistake and quickly apologized after I informed her and I gave her the information to let future customers know that peanut allergy can be deadly. Please inform the staff about being more informed about allergen information. It’s better to say you don’t know. It’s safer that way:) or ask someone else. If I am there again which I will be :) and the manager would like me to help with the allergen information I would be more than happy to help. If the manager can respond to this review and let me know if they would like me to approach them next time about our experience and how they can make it better for families with allergies. I would love to help. I am a registered nurse and stay at home mom. Looking forward to a reply.

Thank you for the visit we will be back and hope that it’s better this time round:)

FYI next day follow up the sev white puff stuff stale tasting next day. Eat it all on the same day ordered...

Chai Pani is a gem of a place, especially in Oakville, and has the POTENTIAL to be a long term staple. The restaurant is clean and pleasant to visit. Most of the time, the staff is welcoming and friendly. The major obstacle for this place is going to be CONSISTENCY!!!! I visited from out of town in the summer of 2023 and thoroughly enjoyed my delicious aloo tikki chaat and cold coffee. TOTALLY worth the price and the wait since it tasted fresh and amazing. Before I ate, I guzzled down the creamy cold coffee within minutes! DELICIOUS! The aloo tikki was like a crisp hash brown, and very plentiful - seemed to cover the whole bottom of the plate, so I got aloo in each bite (YUM!) with delicious papri toppings, chutney, and spices. From what I remember, it was like an updated take on the classic snack. I was very impressed. However, I came back in Feb 2024, and the chaat was ...different. The aloo tikkis were broken up into smaller pieces (more of the traditional style, which is fine but I can find that anywhere...) and there were more lentils and the toppings overall seemed different and inconsistent. The cold coffee also didn't have any ice cream in it. I think coffee and milk for $8.99 is a little outrageous. To their credit, the staff did replace the drink with a new one (with ice cream!) for us to take away. All in all, my first experience here was nothing short of amazing, and the second experience was sort of a letdown. With friends and family in the area corroborating the lack of consistency in the food, I think the owners should take a look at standardizing recipes and retraining staff to make sure everything is done exactly the same every time. I hope to be back this year for more...
