Nyla’s Room — Restaurant in Oakville

Beware The owner of this place emailed me saying I owed them money when I made a reservation for 10 people (14 originally but then only 10 rsvp). Due to unforeseen circumstances only 7 could make it on the day of. The server advised it was not an issue and only charged us for 7 people. The service was amazing. The place is beautiful and food was fantastic.

After we were long gone I received an email and phone call from the owner saying I owed money for 3 more people. I advised if I had been told that at the time I would have paid for the three extra people and asked for the tea and food and service I was paying for. But I did not receive the extra 3 people’s food or tea.

The owner told me that because of the mistake of a minimum wage employee he would be out of pocket. Again I explained I would have paid if I had received the food and service. Which I did not. He then said he was going to fire his server and I said that would be upsetting. He took it back and we ended our phone conversation. The way he talked about his employees were disgusting and disrespectful to say the least.

Please be careful when dealing with the owner. The staff are lovely and even sent a follow up text message thanking...

Called April 19th over the phone and booked was told it's confirmed for today when I called to inform I was running a few minutes late due to trouble finding parking I was told they don't have my booking and then asked if I paid a deposit to secure a booking. I called and booked on April 19 for mother's day to plan in advance and at that time the person on the phone confirmed it was booked and didn't request any deposit. I emailed to book a reservation on April 15th and never got a response to my email then I called on April 19 and was told my booking is confirmed over the phone. We drove 45 minutes to get there only for them to say you didn't book and you should've paid a deposit to confirm your booking when none of that was communicated to me on the phone. Very poor communication and unreliable booking system and no attempt made to accomodate, haven't been here before and never plan to go after...

I tried this place for the first time with my wife and two kids a few days ago after reading all the reviews... and boy was i not disappointed. Where do i start?

We’re our feed a few items and shared them after failing to make up our minds and after the many samples we tried. Things started to get tough (in terms of choosing!).

To cut s as long story short, coffee was very well done, coffee and lemon cake were amazing (they sell them by the loaf btw). My kids loved the gelato (not cheap, air filled ice cream). We even tried the salty pastries. All perfectly done.

Finally, Onita is a goddess. It’s really all about the people. She was so warm, humble and comforting for the kids I’d go back just because of her. I think this could easily become my office away from home ;)))

Can’t wait to go...
