Peppino's Oven — Restaurant in Oakville

I've been to or ordered from Peppino's many, many times with family or with friends, and the food has always been delicious (best wings by far in Oakville/Burlington).

However, yesterday we ordered 6lb of wings and 2 15" pizzas for our superbowl party and the wings were completely underwhelming. The chicken itself was very, very dry, as if they'd been prepared a day or two earlier and were reheated again on Sunday afternoon; and they had almost no sauce on them. They were so bad that we only finished about half of what we ordered, mainly because we were very hungry, but typically they would've flown off the plate!

It was so disappointing that my wife's comment was "I don't think I want to eat anything from Peppino's again". Add to that that 2lb of wings are now $32!

The pizza was fine.

UPDATE: 6 March 2025 I spoke to the owner and went back to Peppino's with my family a week or so ago and I must say the food was just as delicious as it had always been before. I also noticed that there are some good take-out deals now that work out better (if perhaps not as convenient) than ordering via the app.

The wings are one of the best (if not THE best) in the GTHA, but everything else that we regularly order (pizza, panzzeroti, burgers) are also very good.

I guess the guys at Peppino's have set up a very high standard for themselves, but anyone can have an off day.

This place was a disaster from start to finish. My name’s Dustin, I’m 20 years old, born and raised in the backwoods of North Carolina. Very disappointed. We came for trivia night expecting a fun evening, but one of the questions was shocking and disturbing. The trivia round included audio clips of “historical speeches,” and one of them was a speech by Netanyahu who is a war criminal and is wanted by the International Criminal Court, currently overseeing mass atrocities against civilians and children. This choice was completely unacceptable. It was triggering, offensive, and shows a serious lack of judgement. Claiming ignorance is not an excuse. There are countless other speeches that could have been used. Playing that clip is as offensive as playing a speech by German dictator from the 1940s. It should never happen in any setting.
