I must start with walking in the bakery I was a tad bit disappointed as they seemed to have just the regular gluten free options... cupcakes, cookies, and cinnamon buns and brownies..ect.... I was really hoping for a bakery that had more versatile options as I usually go in to a gluten free bakery, buy one of each spend more than $100 and end up throwing it out. BUT... this time I did'nt, i bought 2 cookies a cheese tea biscuit and 3 cinnamon buns. damage was $17 for all items... now let me finish by saying.... it was truly truly the best cookies the best tea biscuit and by FAR the absolute best cinnamon bun I have ever ever tasted.... my husband who is not gluten free asked "you sure this is gluten free"? the tea biscuit texture is exactly as it should be, the texture was like a Tim hortons biscuit.. a perfect buttery and perfect crumbly texture super moist and absolutely perfectly flavoured. the cinnamon bun tasted and texture was exactly like "cinnabun" except it wasnt hot but I'm sure a few seconds in the microwave would do the trick. and the chocolate oatmeal cookies were moist on the inside crispy on the outside with just enough chocolate and oatmeal to satisfy you're cravings. I have to say this place blew me away... and my very very very picky 5 year old loved it..
I can not wait to try the rest of the options at...
Read moreHad an appointment in Oakville driving from KW and as a celiac, I like to discover new GF places in the area am visiting so my son and I stopped by. We did that right after they opened in the morning. We got a few cupcakes, these savory bagel buns filled with cream cheese and cinnamon rolls. The bagel buns were still slightly warm, fluffy and delicious and I dream of having one again. The cinnamon rolls were okay but I have found my holy grail spot fir that so that’s hard to top (but they work to satisfy a craving). And then there were the cupcakes. I want to mention that I don’t like cupcakes usually and don’t care for them. They can be dry and super plain and boring, especially if they’re GF. These were an amazing surprise, super moist with creative flavours. Both my son an I loved them and he’s been asking to go back and get some more and he’s not even celiac so he can have regular ones. Kinda disappointed by some reviews on here criticizing the vegan options. I feel they mostly come from people who don’t have dietary restrictions and can’t understand what a relief and joy it is to be able to just buy food that won’t make you sick. It is so important to these communities that establishments like Sugar Suite exist. We will be...
Read moreI recently ordered a custom cake from Sugar Suite for a special occasion, and I was extremely disappointed with the experience. The cake, which I paid $400 for, collapsed just moments before it was to be presented. The structure relied on four flimsy paper sticks to support a large rectangle of pure fondant, which clearly showed a lack of care in its construction.
In my haste, I took the best photos I could and emailed them to the bakery to express my concerns. Unfortunately, my emails were ignored, and I was met with a series of excuses instead of accountability. When I requested a partial refund, I was outright denied. The only resolution they offered was a replacement cake valued at $125, which was not only poorly made but also tasted terrible.
The icing was overly sweet, while the cake itself was rich and dense, creating a flavor imbalance that was far from enjoyable. I also found their cupcakes to be overpriced at $5 each, considering the quality.
I highly recommend looking elsewhere for your baked goods. There are plenty of gluten-free, vegan, and nut-free bakeries(Dolled up Cupcakes, Rashims, Etc. in the GTA. This was a truly disappointing experience, and I will not be returning to...
