A&W Canada — Restaurant in Ontario

This used to be our favourite location. "Used to be". What happened the last few months? Last couple orders have been tepid, pretty much in the inedible zone. Fries were missing from the order, the chicken burger looked like it had been tossed into the bag from two yards back and the meat was close to room temperature (no, I didn't take the chance). At least the onion rings weren't burnt this time. We went through the drive through but opened our food in the parking lot, so no excuse for the food temperature. You really need to check your holding temperatures.

Another thing we noticed is the staff here used to be half the reason we chose this location. Usually cheerful, now they look stressed and unhappy.

Willing to accept a "one off" but we eat here at least twice a month and it's been consistently bad the last couple of months. At the prices they charge I can't afford to be throwing the food out. We...

Went there before the 11 a.m. breakfast deadline once, and the staff person behind the counter dawdled and chatted with customers before me, then, at the crack of 11, moved to the other cash register and refused my breakfast order. He did not do a good job of pretending he didn't do this on purpose, expressed over-the-top, raised eyebrow "surprise" at my consternation, and finally, when it became apparent that I was not going to go away quietly, offered to go and speak to the manager. I agreed he should, he went and chatted with a woman for a few minutes who was working in the kitchen area, and who could not see her way clear to coming out and speaking to me herself. He returned and said he couldn't help me. He wished me a wonderful day, in a sing-songy, sarcastic tone as I angrily left. This place is very close to where I live, but will never set foot in it again and they will never get another nickel...

Update 2: Stopped here on Oct 3, tried to order dinner for the family and the cashier advised (while giggling) they were out of chicken, the only thing they had were the Beyond Meat nuggets. Didn't even have sweet n' sour sauce, either. Cancelled the order and went to the A&W on Wharncliffe South. Last time I'll be trying this location. They really need to step it up here.

Update: stopped here on labour day and had a decent burger. Looks like the hours still haven't been updated on their Google listing though.

Drove here to get food on Friday, turns out hours are not being updated on Google & restaurant was closed despite saying they're open until midnight.

Least you can do is keep an accurate update of your hours, especially during covid times & for being located so far away from other restaurants.
