I very much enjoyed my shake which was the oreo milkshake. I went out for a walk to fill a craving for something cold and on my way to my usual place I saw Half Dose. I thought why not try something new and inside I went.
Pros: the wide variety of flavors and choices was very impressive and my eyes was drawn to so many different options I had a hard time deciding.
The oreo shake was very tasty. It was cold, refreshing, not over powering sweet and just the right amount of oreo cookie.
The atmosphere was very pleasant the service was friendly and informative and I got my shake very quickly.
CONS: The prices are a little off putting as my shake was the size of a can of pop and it cost me $9.03 so it is rather expensive and even though the service was nice and the atmosphere was very good and trendy I could get something cheaper and almost as tasty else where.
When I was asked how I would like to pay I responded with cash and presented a $10 bill. However, I was told she did not have a dollar for change. An honest and goodness every day looney was not available. One dollar, I was going to tip them anyway but that is not the point of the matter. What if I had a twenty would they still have have change or would I have had to walk up the street to a more reliable place?
Would I recommend? If you are willing to pay for it then yes it is nice, tasty and plenty of options. If you can hold out for a 99 cent frosty then do that instead. Even a large frosty is twice the size and more then...
Read moreMilkshakes are one of the great pleasures in life. And everyone close to me knows that I LOVE a good milkshake, so I was compelled to check out Halfdose Shakes. It is across the street from Victoria Park.
Although the name implies milkshakes, they sell fruit shakes and sparkling boba shakes, too. Aside from drinks, they do croffles in many forms.
The owner tried to help me decide on what to get and said their pistachio shake is second to none. So I got that and a red velvet shake. He couldn’t have been more right about the pistachio! The red velvet was good in its own right but outmatched by the one prior.
I had room for a croffle, so I thought, why not? There were so many flavours, so the owner offered to make it half and half with two flavours. My two flavours were brownie and pistachio. I asked for a fork but the gentlemen said they use latex gloves instead. This was bizarre, but I decided to give it a go. It wasn’t so bad but nothing beats traditional cutlery. The croffle was great but one flavour won me over the other. As no surpise, it was the pistachio side. It had real slivers of the green nut and was drizzled with pistachio sauce.
The bill was $28.
In conclusion, Halfdose strives to bring customers joy. The owner is excited to take care of newcomers and left a lasting...
Read moreI would and have recommended Abbas to many people. Not only are the smoothies and shakes absolutely delicious but the service is beyond fantastic. The first time I went the man serving us was beyond helpful and offered us a sample of a Kiwi Tea which was delicious! We got a strawberry smoothie and loved it so much we went back the next day and the guy was working again and remembered us! Which was really nice. We went a few times after and loved it each time. Tonight we went back again after not being for a while and a new man was working and he was so lovely. He let us try a sample of the bastachio and then recommended the Raspberry Hibiscus Iced Tea my boyfriend asked if he could have a sample of it and he ended up just making us a whole drink for free. It tasted amazing. We got a strawberry vanilla smoothie and Abbas special which was honestly amazing. They also always are asking for your opinion and I had mentioned about their menu having lots of Mango options and that it would be nice if they had more. He was so delighted to hear this and let us know he would be updating the menu soon even with some coffee options! Would highly recommend this place but be prepared to never want to go anywhere else but...
