I need to update this review for 2 reasons. The first reason is I have ordered through Door Dash many times and on multiple occasions there was something wrong with the order (no garlic sauce, didn't follow special instructions (no olives), etc...) but when I called to let them know there was a mistake, they remedied it immediately. Tonight, however, it was a struggle to get an acceptable remedy. I received a greek salad with one of my 2 orders from Babaz where it should have been roasted potatoes.
When I called and informed the staff of the incorrect order and that we can't eat any of it due to an allergy to olives and that we would like them to send the correct order, the first staff member replied by telling me to call the manager tomorrow and that there isn't anything she can do right now as the manager isn't there, that they were short staffed and also didn't have a driver. Of course this was unacceptable to me because when a customer orders food, they expect it to be what they ordered and that due to the olive allergy, that order will have to go straight to the garbage. Eventually a gentleman got on the phone and at first tried to give me the same excuses as before, but I again explained it was unacceptable to have to wait a day to get food that I already paid for simply because the manager wasn't in. I explained again that the order can't be eaten due to an olive allergy and that the entire platter will be getting thrown out. After explaining this to the gentleman I asked for 1 of 2 things. 1, give me the correct order tonight or 2, give me the money back for that order. After a few more minutes of both of us repeating the same arguments, he eventually said he will do his best to find a driver and he was successful at finding one.
The second reason is, all of this tells me 1 thing. The staff currently working were left with their hands tied behind their back because of a lack of proper management. It is unacceptable for any restaurant to leave their staff with no way to correct orders. Mistakes happen and the staff need to have a way to correct it instead of trying to argue with customers.
I do want to say the lady and gentleman I spoke to were not rude to me at all. They were professional and the gentleman that found a driver should be commended for going above and beyond and finding a driver to deliver the correct order. The food was still delicious and they sent extra roasted potatoes with the driver as what I'm assuming is an apology for the wrong order.
I pray this restaurant fixes these issues. It is my all time favorite place to get shawarma and the staff has always been incredibly friendly to me, but due to this serious issue, I feel the need to bring this from 5...
Read moreWe visited again opted for pick up have to say Best shawarma in town! The traditional chicken shawarma is our absolute favorite—juicy, flavorful, and always satisfying. Highly recommend!
Our recent visit to Babaz Shawarma in London was a mixed experience. Opting for a dine-in with a group of five, we ordered a variety of items including shawarma wrap, platter, poutine, and beef skewer. While the shawarma was enjoyable, the rest of the food was just okay.
One notable downside was the lack of plates or glasses provided. The food was served in take-away containers, making the dining experience uncomfortable, especially with kids. Unfortunately, the absence of proper tableware affected our overall enjoyment, and the kids didn't find the experience enjoyable.
In summary, while Babaz Shawarma may be a good spot for chicken shawarma, the dine-in experience left much to be desired. The lack of plates and the use of take-away containers for dining in made it less comfortable, particularly with children. If you're craving chicken shawarma, it might be worth a visit, but for a comprehensive dine-in experience, there may be better...
Read moreBabaz used to be my go-to shawarma spot and I always recommended it to friends and family. But lately the quality has gone downhill.
I ordered a shawarma platter on Uber Eats and even called the store politely asking if they could make sure it was fresh since my last order wasn’t good. Instead of being helpful, the worker on the phone sounded offended and questioned me. I let it go, hoping they’d make it right.
What I got was worse. The platter was barely half full, rice spread out to make it look like more. The chicken was chopped so fine it was like powder, and the rest was just chunks of fat… ew. Some pieces even looked purple and inedible. For $25 this is a complete waste of money. I never waste food, but this time I had to throw most of the fatty chicken away.
It honestly felt like my request for fresh food was taken as a joke, because what I got was the opposite.
I’ve attached two photos: one showing what I received tonight and one showing how good the platter used to be. The difference says everything.
This will be my last order from Babaz. Extremely...
