Balzac's Kingston — Restaurant in Ontario

I have really mixed experiences here. I used to work across the street and would get a "Parisian Mist" 3-4 times a week. Half of the time it was easily one of the best London Fog drinks in town, the other half of the time it literally tastes like nothing, it seems to be dependant on who makes it. Because of this inconsistency I stopped going altogether.

I visited again a week or so ago for the first time in well over a year, and the Parisian Mist was delicious. I visited again a few days later and had the same experience. I hoped that maybe the quality was now going to be consistent. However, I visited today and my drink tasted like $6 worth of nothing. I literally dumped it out on my way home and got a different drink elsewhere.

Sometimes it's delicious and flavourful and other times you can tell there is no vanilla and it quite literally taste like a cup of hot water. I've given this place several chances over the years but I simply cannot afford a $6 drink that MIGHT...

Okay, this is a review solely for the new bald manager. Every barista who works here is so so lovely and makes the coffee incredible, my espresso is never burnt and I hope all of their pillows are always cold and their coffee always warm because finding non burnt espresso in this town is a nightmare. BUT ever since new manager came in, it is obvious that they are fighting for their lives to maintain quality because he continually punches in orders wrong, not to mention that he under fills the drinks by a really noticeable amount. Sir, if you stopped getting drinks wrong and dumping them out and instead filled people’s lattes all the way up you would still have the same profit margin 🫶 Anyways, I know the employees there can’t say anything because he’s their boss so consider this my contribution to the good fight....

Was given a gift card for Christmas. Every coffee I bought including the one I bought this morning at 9:am January 27 25 the staff are constantly touching their face, or hair. Today was the worst. She wiped her nose with her index over the back of her hand and up the wrist. Then she played with her hair and inside her sweater scratched behind her shoulder, and neck. I am throwing out this gift card and I won't be back. There was no where to file a complaint on the website, so I will leave one here. I enjoyed the bags I bought from Costco, so my family member thought a in store gift card was a good idea. What do I say if they ask ?

Very gross and unprofessional. I have seen people get written up for less, I hope you get a visit from a undercover health inspectore. And I hope those two are working...
