From the moment my mom and I walked through the doors of the Frontenac Club, we knew we had arrived somewhere truly extraordinary. We had planned a three day, two night staycation, with the plan to play tourists in our own beautiful city. The Frontenac Club, as the premiere luxury hotel in the area, was the ideal backdrop to this mother-daughter time, but to say that it exceeded our expectations is a serious understatement. ||The property itself is stunning, a perfect blend of historic character and modern luxury. The rooms are elegant yet inviting, with thoughtful design that makes every detail feel curated just for you. Our suites were a sanctuary: the Bell had soaring windows that filled the space with light, plush bedding that enveloped us in comfort, and my room, the Locomotive, had a spa-like bathroom that made every morning and evening feel indulgent. Every single inch of every space was impeccable. I am not sure if the staff run around with magnifying glasses, but I swear I couldn't find one thing that wasn't so clean that it sparkled. ||Each morning, we had a fantastic breakfast, included. It was really fun to come back to the room each night to find the menu for the next morning - each day had a special feature. On the first morning we had the Frontenac Benny, and on the second, we had stuffed french toast (a personal standout for the trip). We also loved the signature cocktails offered at the gorgeous bar, and indulged in the Candy Bar hidden away on the 2nd floor. Even sitting and reading in the comfortable and well appointed boardgame bar was a quiet respite from regular life. ||But what truly sets the Frontenac Club apart is the people, especially Sean. His warmth, dedication, and genuine care made us feel like family. That rare balance of world-class luxury with heartfelt hospitality is almost impossible to find, and yet Sean and the team deliver it effortlessly. My mom and I will never forget how welcome and cared for we felt; it’s the kind of experience that stays with you long after you leave. When I first arrived, Thomas showed me to our rooms, and I told my mom that I would need to go get some bath bombs for the huge soaker tub. To my surprise, a few moments later while I was settling in, Thomas knocked on the door with some bath supplies. Each member of staff is available at all times - a cellphone number is provided and you can text any request and they will literally go above and beyond to find a way to make things even more special. Its these kinds of little moments that make a luxury stay so worthwhile. ||Kingston is a great place to visit. To see it from the lens of visitors for the first time really reminded us what makes it so special - we took the Island Princess boat cruise and saw a stunning sunset, ate at world-class restaurants like Tango Nuevo and Casa Domenico, and enjoyed the Kingston Penitentiary tour.||Thank you to the Frontenac Club for hosting us on this really special getaway. From the quiet elegance of the rooms, to the extraordinary service, to the sense of being at home in a place so rich with history, the Frontenac Club is more than a hotel—it’s a destination in itself. Kingston is lucky to have such a gem, and we can’t wait to return.||⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (If I could give...

A few weeks ago, my daughter called me and said that we should go on a “Staycation”. I did not know what this meant. She explained that many people were doing this to save money in transportation when going to other places. It meant we stay in Kingston, where we live, and enjoy re-discovering our town, taking tours, we had not done before, disconnecting for a few days of our jobs, and most important, spending time just us: mother and daughter. |What a wonderful surprise it was for me to arrived at Frontenac Club to spent 3 days together. This boutique hotel is one of a kind located in the heart of downtown Kingston. We parked the car in the parking lot of the hotel during all our stay, as we were able to walk to the sites we wanted to visit. Also, within walking distance are the best restaurants in town. |We were given two marvelous suites, one with a full living room, king bed, and an astonishing bathroom with a bathtub. The other one was also very impressive with all the amenities needed. Both suites were impeccable clean! |Every morning, we went down to their restaurant called “The Bank” where we had a well served and complete breakfast (included), and the last day we dine there (tapas), accompanied by life music and the tastiest margaritas I have ever had. |Frontenac Club personnel make a special point to get to know their guests. With 20 suites, all with different themes and sizes, they catered families, singles and couples. They have a sweet bar and small arcade for children, a lounge to read and play games, a patio to relax, enjoy the weather while having meals served also there. |It is important to note that Frontenac Club is a heritage historic house build in 1871, and although it has been completely and beautifully renovated, it has kept its special character. It was home to one of the first Canadian Bank of Montreal, and therefore there is a vault, so large that it has been conditioned to host business meetings or private celebrations.|I highly recommend staying at Frontenac Club. If you are celebrating an anniversary, or a family gathering (my brother and his family stayed here when they visited us from overseas), or if you are celebrating another special occasion, or coming to Kingston as a tourist, or as a staycation guest, you will not be...

We cannot overstate the level of enjoyment a few days at the Club gifted us. Central -- walking distance to world class food. Self contained -- don't walk anywhere! Stay in and have fabulous food or drink brought to you. Bragging rights-- this limestone edifice was the first Bank of Montréal building outside Quebec. Step inside the original vault before you venture to the exclusive members only bar, outdoor fire, sauna....crave charcuterie? It's an option. Attention to detail? Put on your bathrobe, turn on the fire and pick a vinyl LP. We picked the suite dedicated to some of Kingston's musical icons. The Tragically Hip donated Platinum awards to the décor. The Actual awards. We really had to tear ourselves away from this place to wander the 2 blocks away to the downtown heartbeat of Canada's original Capital city. We are blessed to travel occasionally, but with intent. This venue will always occupy a place in our cherished memory file. To be sure, a place is only as good as it's worst employee! We did NOT encounter one. Our hostess Jen came in early our second day just to gleefully tour guide us through the suites we didn't choose. (For our next visit...Churchill??) Arthur Milned served our breakfast and we bonded over parallel careers in Crime & Punishment. Look him up...a King Charles lll award winning Canadian. Kristi-- we met last minute on our last day who was as real and wonderful as anyone could ask for. The common theme is pride in the Club and their association to it. We bought a membership and look forward to getting out of Muskoka and continuing our exploration of the old world elegance the Frontenac Club offers!

Frontenac club is undoubtedly beautifully decorated and very clean, which we appreciated. However, there are a couple of areas that need improvement. On the night of August 21, there was no hot water supply for approximately two hours. After a long day of outdoor activities, it was quite disappointing not being able to take a hot shower or bath until almost midnight. The next morning (August 22), we were woken up early by noise from other guests — including footsteps, water running, and toilet flushing from upstairs and conversations in the hallway. The sound insulation could definitely be improved, as the noise was very noticeable. While trying to take a shower early, we encountered another issue: the water pressure was inconsistent and seemed to depend on overall demand. At times it was strong, while at other times it was barely a trickle. We have included videos as reference. For a stay priced more than $500 per night, we expected better soundproofing and a more reliable water supply. It’s a shame, because the building itself is charming and has great potential. Hopefully, these issues can be addressed to improve future guests’ experience. Edit: we stayed in the Backstage
