Best in Town Diner — Restaurant in Ontario

My recent brunch at Town Diner left me with mixed feelings. The nostalgic atmosphere and delicious food, coupled with the friendly service from the first waitress, initially set a positive tone. The coffee was excellent too.

However, the experience took a downturn when a second waitress took over our table. While confident, her loud training discussions with another waitress felt unprofessional. She seemed eager for us to leave, clearing plates swiftly and making us feel rushed.

What disappointed me the most was her abrupt compliment on my sweater during the bill payment, an obvious attempt for tips. It felt insincere and left a distasteful impression.

Despite the good food, the rushed service and uncomfortable encounter with the second waitress make me hesitant to revisit Town Diner. The inconsistency in service needs improvement for a more enjoyable...

I’ve been to Town dinner multiple times. Food always been mediocre… There has been a couple of times I have found hair in my eggs benedict as the guys in the kitchen don’t wear beard nets. However what really upset me was on May 31 when I took my elderly grandfather for breakfast. We had already paid our bill and this older women with a white short pixie cut hair that works there had approached us. She asked if we could hurry up because people were waiting…. I found this extremely ignorant as we just paid and supported HER job, and if someone wants to enjoy their coffee let them. It’s not my problem that you suddenly have a rush of people that decided not to get up earlier for breakfast. Extremely unprofessional, and disappointed. Lady needs to do better and have some self reflecting as she’s getting up...

Donna Mae's is our favourite place to go for breakfast! The staff are so friendly and kind, they greatly appreciate and care about each and every one of their customers and they also put that care into everything they serve. The staff always have positive attitudes and you can count on a happy smiling face greeting you when you walk in and throughout your dining experience. The atmosphere is a comfy at home feel. It is always nice to hear the light hearted conversation between the staff as well as between the staff and their customers and seeing the friendly connections they have built with their regulars. The portions are great, the food is always cooked to perfection and we always leave satisfied! We will most definitely continue to choose Donna Mae's for our future...
