Big Bites Cornwall — Restaurant in Ontario

I couldn’t find their garbage can? Maybe I missed it, but they should be clearly marked.

The washrooms: they have single room washrooms, which I prefer. Ceilings are low. The automatic soap dispenser isn’t working but they have pump soap. Paint needs a touch up. I hate when the washroom detracts from the rest of the atmosphere.

Food: I got the super smoked meat sandwich. (15.99)My husband got the platter (18.99) and converted the sandwich to a super for another ($4). They gave me 1/4 of a pickle (I thought I would receive at least half a pickle but oh well). For the platter they give you some hot peppers, a slice of swiss cheese and a mini container of coleslaw (which is the vinaigrette kind). The coleslaw was very small, the cheese looked sad, I stole my husbands 1/4 pickle. He never ate any of his sides which made his platter order superfluous. Essentially he paid 22.99 for his super sandwich and I paid 15.99 for mine. (But I digress). The sandwiches were as thick as my fist. The meat was really yummy and my husband inhaled his sandwich. I ate half of mine and thought it was great. My kitten kept trying to steal my meat.

Common sense isn't so common these days, but today Big Bites showed me a glimmer of hope. Was placing an order on UberEats while doing something pretty consumptive of focus at the same time. When I chose an item and list of ingredients appeared, and I saw nothing I didn't want I quickly selected all of them and finished my order. Little did I know I had just "chosen" to remove every single topping besides the chicken from my wrap. Instead of simply doing what the tables said they questioned the order (presumably because it was reduced to nothing you couldn't whip up at home in a second with the same results) and reached out to Uber Eats to confirm there wasn't a mistake. It's little things like this that go a long way. I really hope the food is as good as the other reviews say, because I have always disliked staying in Cornwall for work. The hotel my employer puts us in is kinda cruddy and besides the selection chain joints (BP, ESM, etc) the food I've tried is bordering on miserable. Have I found my spot? If so I'd love to cut out Uber and come...

Saturday, we decided to have lunch out. We settled on Big Bites, on Montreal Road. I was pleased to see that they have a convenient drive-thru. The menu is well laid out and really reasonably priced. I settled on a double burger, a medium fry and a Pepsi, my girlfriend had a hot dog (and a few of my fries).

The server was extremely pleasant and as I always have special requests with my burger, the great server validated everything with me, which was appreciated. In addition, they heard the commotion of our three dogs, and were gracious enough to give us a wiener to share with them. In addition, I could see through the drive thru window that they keep things really clean and tidy.

Mere minutes later, we got our food. I was delighted to bite into a juicy, (very) generous and impeccably prepared burger, followed by a huge helping of delicious fresh cooked fries. An absolutely awesome first impression! We all loved what we ordered, including our three dogs, who enjoyed their complimentary wiener :)
