Riverside is regularly voted the best pizza in Cornwall by the city--and by myself and my 11-year-old son, Max. I first heard about it from one of the nurses, and believe me, they know good food. As an emergency doctor, I like the fact that one slice of pizza can fill me up. I can eat more than most human beings, and it's not efficient for me to stop to eat more often than I have to. I love their kindness to my children. Many restaurants barely tolerate even well-behaved children, but last night, Riverside staff offered us a free poutine because they made an extra one by accident. Max and I wanted to respond to some of the other reviews. No, it's not heart-healthy or an upscale locale, but the people are honest and generous with their ingredients, i.e. a half inch of pepperoni instead of a few slices here and there on your pizza, which does make it salty. If you want less meat and more vegetables, ask them for less meat and order more vegetables, or add more vegetables at home. You are also free to have a small serving and bring the rest home, which is what we do. If you want them to renovate, be prepared for higher prices. It's always a trade-off between food quality, prices, and ambiance. My daughter was very happy with a hot dog and some French fries on the side, which only cost $4.95 before tax and tip. Max said simply, "This may be the best food ever created." We've been coming here for years and have never been disappointed. Long...

I have been frequenting this amazing restaurant since around 1987. It always was and is still to this day my absolute favourite place for pizza. For what seems like forever, two older gentlemen were the pizza cooks who have since retired. After seeing that they were gone, my heart sank while waiting for my freshly ordered pizza. Upon arrival, to my amazement the pizza looked and smelled the same. In fact... it was! The owners must've meticulously hand groomed and trained their new pizza cooks, and I have been SUPER grateful for this. In all honesty, I haven't really tried anything else on the menu besides their poutine occasionally. And it TOO was very good. The restaurant's inside, sadly, is in need of updating and perhaps a better floor layout. That being said, the AMAZING food you get here will by far outweigh this drawback. They have always been very generous with their toppings and cheese, using only fresh ingredients and you can taste the difference it makes. As long as this restaurant stays true to its roots and keeps making that amazing pizza, I will continue ordering as a...

It was our first time trying Riverside today. I ordered the hamburger steak and he had the pizzaghetti. The portions were beyond huge and the food was ok. I didn’t care for the seasonings they used in the beef but that is just my taste. Frozen fries and canned veggies. Gravy was nice though. As for the pizzaghetti it wasn’t a pizzaghetti at all. It was a calzone drenched in meat sauce. He says it was good but they should rename the plate or let the customers know they are not getting pizza. The pea soup was good. Reminded me of Habitant brand. Waitress was friendly enough. The lady at the counter never acknowledged us as we were paying other then to ask if it was debit (too busy talking to the man beside her). Saying hello or asking how we liked it would have been appreciated but hey not everyone has great people skills. I will go back and try the pizza because it looked and smelled delicious and that’s what everyone was eating. 3...

We drove here from Montreal since we hear they had great pizza. Honestly it’s not that far. Once you factor in that you basically drive an hour or more because of Montreal traffic and its parking situation to get to the local joint, driving to Cornwall doesn’t seem that far. The restaurant is located very close to the river which is beautiful and you can go for a stroll or rent a kayak to burn off some of the calories. We had pizza and boy was it loaded! You pretty much need a steak knife to cut into it. There’s almost an inch of pepperoni/sausage/bacon loaded onto the meat lovers pizza. Then they throw a mountain of cheese on top and cook it to perfection. It’s going to become the spot we will be going to every time we’re craving a good slice. Highly recommended. Loui is a fantastic pizza man. We decided to eat on the picnic table right outside the restaurant.
