Boboli — Restaurant in Ontario

Passed through last week and decided to stop in after seeing all the photos of the food on here. Was surprised how little there was to choose from when I arrived (2hrs after they opened). I was offered other pie options, after looking for something other than the one pie and cookies on display.

Had a slice of cheesecake and sat and drank a drip coffee. It was very warm in there, minimal air conditioning used. Noticed a sandwich board outside offering non sweets and sandwiches... No signage in side. Would have had something else heartier first if I knew or it was mentioned.

Drip coffee was not good. I noticed they sell their branded beans there too... If that was the same product I tasted I wouldn't recommend.

Store only accepts cash but has no signage warning of it. Our order came to over $20 - a bit much for pocket change, more than warrants the cost of a debit terminal rental I believe.

Overall okay, but it seems that (like most of the Brockville downtown we saw) it is geared towards the locals, despite the fact that this town is screaming for younger visitors and that related tourism income. Did not feel particularly welcomed, even in a almost empty...

It was good - we did like it. The sandwich bread was delicious - we did like that! I also like the vibes too. But it was $30 for two cheese sandwiches and two cappuccinos. We didn’t specify which cappuccino we wanted but weren’t asked. It was quite small so I assume it was small. Prices were $3.50 for small $3.90 large but when she typed in the cost she typed $3.99 in.

We were eating when I realized everyone was paying in cash and I began to feel anxious - I’ve not been anywhere before in over ten years that did not have debit. Even a “square” little debit machine is only a couple hundred of dollars and allows for debit to be used. My spouse had to leave mid meal to go to the bank which didn’t make it the most enjoyable. No signs stating no debit and I do see on here it’s been a complaint for many years….so I’m not sure why it hasn’t been resolved. Unfortunately I won’t be going back due to the lack of debit. They were very nice, but the lack of debit isn’t great. For a pop-in lunch I can’t stop at the bank everytime and it’s 2023, most people that aren’t elderly...

My first visit to Boboli was in the summer of 2022. Since then I have become a frequent customer.

You can order anything on the menu and will not be disappointed. The soup is so well made I don't even have to ask what the soup of the day is anymore - JUST GIVE ME SOME!

My favourite thing to order is the Curry Chicken Salad Sandwich with a bowl of soup and I usually get a shot of espresso to go.

The owner is usually there and is very friendly as is the other staff!

The atmosphere and music are both perfect.

They have big chocolate chip cookies made fresh every day that usually sellout quickly!

Do yourself a favour if you haven't tried this place.

I would say it's probably my favourite place to get a meal...
