The outer park around the railway tunnel is very nice and has many picture opportunities. The water is beautiful, and refreshing on a warm day although the best place to enter the water around the railway tunnel is huge slabs of algae covered cement that have left breaking holes between them. The little fence around the area makes it a good place to take your dog swimming but it is in use a lot so sometimes you have to wait a bit. The tunnel itself is a beautiful piece of history and a must see, but I really enjoyed the area around it the most. Come visit Block House in Brockville, but don't put anything you own down unattended as crime is high in the city currently but maybe if we get more tourists, people will start to work on our...

I simply love strolling they the tunnel….. walk thru history…. Watching the brick phase into stones with changing light Color’s …… and read every single panel of explanation along the way.
The dripping water from the top and music in the background ….. it is simply entertaining and educational.
Parking is free ( 2 hour complementary ) pretty much every where except near the marina area. I suggest park on streets to save the paying hassle if you prefer.

It is an amazing architectural design railway tunnel that is built with rocks and parts that had to be blasted out in order to get through the rock. It's also amazing to see that water still drains down inside some sections of the tunnel as a natural environmental effect.
