Cotswolds Pie and Pasties — Restaurant in Ontario

I recently had the pleasure of indulging in a truly exceptional meat pie at Cotswold in Orillia, and I must say, it was a culinary masterpiece. From the first bite, I was transported to a cozy English pub. The pastry was flaky and buttery, perfectly crisp on the outside and delightfully tender within. Inside, the filling was a symphony of flavors: succulent chunks of meat, rich gravy, and earthy vegetables all harmoniously intertwined. I was so excited when I found this bakery... and sadly, very underwhelmed. :( Their sausage rolls (both pork & beef), while having great pastry are pretty much tasteless on the meat side. So I tried a Bridie on a next visit... same.. great pastry, but tasteless filling. Today I tried the steak & onion bake .. super pastry and mediocre filling (but better than the others listed). On another visit I tried the Melton Mowbray pork pie.. again good pastry but filling may have been mulched cardboard. Does the chef not taste the filling they are putting in the product? That's what I think is the problem and it's very easily rectified! I will try the pastie next time... hoping something's...

Bought 2 Steak Pies. A Victoria Sponge Cake and 2 Chocolate Cream Puffs

First the Pies are fantastic 350°f for 30 minutes. Turned out absolutely perfect.

The Pastry used for the pie is absolutely spectacular.

The meat is perfect. I plan to buy more will go absolutely amazing with a beautiful Red Wine Beef Gravy with peas on top.

The Chocolate Cream Puff is delicious, the filly is nice and fresh wiped cream.

The Victoria Sponge Cake is delicious as well, authentic fillings, almost reminds me of a passion flakey.

I can't wait to be back for a second round.
