Amazing food!!! The chefs are very good. The service has been quite good. On several recent occasions, I have had some very unpleasant dining experiences there. This morning in particular. Two women and their children. These women allowed their kids to scream repeatedly. I don’t mean kids screaming, I mean blood curdling, like William Wallace getting disemboweled at the Tower of London. I hurriedly ate my breakfast within 5 minutes and left. If you read my Google reviews, you will discover I rarely complain about dining establishments nor am I a self obsessed food critic with an overly sensitive pallet. I however, do request, and insist on a certain level of atmosphere and that the owners of this establishment ask patrons to kindly take responsibility for their kids behaviour. As it was affecting not only me, but the entire diner of about 25 people. I am also a parent. To settle the opinions of any other critical parents reading this. As well, why was there one server working in an obviously very busy time of day? In closing, to the ownership and managers: Please educate your staff on the importance of being proactive and mentoring them on how to address customers who are creating a disruptive experience to others without regard for others and to please exercise some courtesy and respect and take ownership of their children's behaviour. This is Sunday station, a diner and not Chuck E Cheese or McDonalds after all. I will not be returning here. There are a multitude of options for breakfast and brunch locally. Best of luck with your restaurant endeavours. Thank you for the excellent previous experiences.

Here’s a draft of the review based on your experience: I am extremely disappointed with my recent experience at this establishment. I placed an order and had a remaining balance of $80. I initially thought I was given a discount, but later received a letter requesting payment of the remaining balance. When I reached out to clarify the situation, I was met with rude and unprofessional behavior. After explaining the misunderstanding and even apologizing for any confusion on my part, I was shocked that my order was not accepted. Instead of resolving the issue amicably, I was repeatedly told conflicting and incorrect information about my order. It is frustrating to be treated this way as a customer. If there was a misunderstanding about the payment, a polite conversation could have resolved it. However, the way this was handled was unacceptable and unprofessional. I hope the management takes this feedback seriously and improves their approach to customer service. Until then, I cannot recommend this place to others. Feel free to adjust the review to better reflect your experience or add any additional details.

As for the plus: The inside feels like an old streetcar Diner from the 60s. I keep on coming back for breakfast. The ham portions are really generous, compared with other restaurants in the area. The coffee flow has always been excellent, which is one of the reasons why I keep on coming back. Nothing worse that running out of coffee during breakfast. Prices for breakfast include coffee and refills! The service has always been friendly and inclusive. As for the tiny drawbacks: 1) It would be nice to have a choice of potatoes for breakfast. Here they are diced and deep fried - no negotiation. 2) BRING CASH. This is a cash only place.3) No Internet, which means no news or email reading on the tablet or phone |:(

We found the Pantry by googling best breakfast in Orillia and were excited to try it while in town. Unfortunately on arrival, we found they are not serving breakfast for the time being (more on that below) but DO go for a sandwich and soup or the baked goods to eat in or to go! Say hi to Kate!

Construction is taking a toll on this little biz as you'll need to detour to get to it, coming in on St. Jean no matter what your GPS says (accurate as of summer 2024 thru November 2024).

Our impressions: Adjacent to a very old little motel not far from the lake on a messy road (they're working on it). Venture around the construction to find this little hidden gem. What a cute little place and exactly what you want from a local bistro/market/CafƩ type spot. How lucky for people staying at the motel, it's right next door.

Fabulous, fresh, all butter baked goods made all in house with pride and care by Kate who is great for a chat and works so hard to keep the place well stocked with fresh, delicious everything - just go!

From espresso chocolate mousse tarts to moist raisin carrot cake with the cutest (ample) dabs of cream cheese frosting, the lightest, most delish blueberry scones drizzled in just the right amount of vanilla icing (must try!), fresh grilled sandwiches (grilled cheese, reuben etc.) and hearty comfort items like smoked brisket stew, you'll want to try it all. I sure wanted to!

Please keep them in biz! I hope to go back for breakfast once the road...

Seems like this place is riding on previous reviews from the hasty tasty. I had high hopes for this place and have tried twice as the first time was a bit off putting with the impression we were putting the staff out just being there. This morning we tried a second time. Both my boyfriend and I tried the BETA Benedict; I ordered a coffee and my boyfriend ordered a tea. The server brought the coffee over with cream already in the coffee and when I asked she started to make weird comments about how they don’t like giving cream out because customers waste it….she brought over a black coffee with cream in the side, still filling it up to the level she was complaining about then oddly I was not offered a refill of my coffee the entire breakfast. Wonder why customers waste the cream? Offer them refills for your $3 coffee. The tea came with milk on the side, so I don’t understand the logic of this place.

Both times the meals did not come with fruit as stated on the menu and the BETA does not have ā€œavocadoā€ it was guacamole or some type of prepackaged avocado spread similar to the one found at Costco. Hollandaise sauce and eggs were cold in spots.

I expected more for the price and not some older lady complaining about customers.

We will not be...
