Today, Dad and I wanted a quick takeout place. After a bit of searching on Google Maps, I found just what we had in mind. It’s called Craklins Best Fish & Chips, situated on Third St and Dundas St. It’s where the flea market is.
This joint is open for dine-in on weekends when the Gibraltar Flea Market is open, but today was a weekday. We had the option to eat at one of their tables outside. Perfect for an autumn lunch outside with the family.
A man was sitting at one of those tables. He and Dad got talking, and the man told him all about how this is the best fish and chips in London. He eats here daily.
We walked up to look at their menu. Dad quickly made up his mind and ordered 2 PC Haddock & Chips. I followed and did the same. The price for this item is $17.
We drove home. Everything that the man said was true. The batter was crispy, the fish was fresh, and there was plenty of malt vinegar and tartar sauce. The fries were awesome even on their own, without any condiments! I’m not a coleslaw person, yet I actually ate some this time. Not a scrap of food was left.
Dad said we would’ve never found this place without Google Maps. I hope this review helps more people...
Read moreIt is the best fish and chips I ever had from a local business in London, Ontario. I first had it during the Sunfest event located at downtown Victoria Park. I tried their one piece Haddock fish and chips. The fish is well battered not too oily. It is steamy hot inside and it is crispy as it was drained properly after it was pulled out of the deep fryer as a certain time, temperature and the right measurement. The chips is a lot crispy and not too oily. It is a lot better chips than the chips at Five Guys and a Burger. I like their fish and chips as to support local businesses. A lot better compare to the ones I tried at Jack Astor’s, Fionn MacCool’s or Canadian Brewhouse since they do not put any passion on their seafood menu. Cracklin is a lot better on their fish and chips as it more of a British style. I like their seasoning salt that taste so good from the counter. I will come back here for their fish and chips. Best fish and chips in London, Ontario. Nothing but positive...
Read moreI'm not sure what to say exactly. I usually try to drone on and be funny with my reviews. I got no words other then " the best fish and chips I've ever had" They have sit down service on Saturdays and Sundays when the market is open..take out the other days from my understanding. The portions were absolutely perfect. I get annoyed when you have this gigantic piece of fish. The portions size was perfect. The batter was off the hook perfect. Not super thick but man was it crunchy. I hate when you have a micro piece of fish and all batter. HOMEMADE tarter sauce. How many times do you have fish and chips and those gross prepacked tarter sauces. Everyone is yapping about halibut house... For half the price and better quality fish... Come here!!! The lady who ran the place was nice. She knew how to coach her staff and you could tell she was a veteran of great customer service!! Well done... We...
