Ate at Dimi’s for the first time this week and I’m already planning my next trip back. Food, drinks, service and atmosphere all amazing. My fiancé and I eat out A LOT, and this was some of the best food we’ve had in a long time. Perfect spot for a date night!
FOOD We tried several of the appetizers and all were amazing - the saganaki (which they pour Ouzo on and light on fire table side before all the staff yell “Opa’) is an absolute must! We also had the Greek salad, short ribs, calamari, shrimp and lamb chops. I can’t even pick my favorite, that’s how good they all were. For mains we had the salmon and lamb shank and loved both! Portions are very generous and reasonably priced, the presentation is great, and it’s super cool watching the chefs prepare your meal from the open kitchen. We sat at the bar all night and every dish that went by looked amazing. We somehow also had the cheesecake for dessert which was also fabulous.
DRINKS Since we were sat at the bar (the restaurant was packed all night... on a Wednesday!) we decided to try out some of the cocktails the bartender was making. We tried a bunch of them and loved them all - my fiancé’s favorite was the Mule, and mine was the Gin & Soda which came with a burning sprig of rosemary. Also had the Strawberry Lemonade and Richmond Sour and all were delicious!
SERVICE & ATMOSPHERE 10/10. The restaurant decor is awesome, music is great, and they celebrate birthdays with shots of ouzo and smashing plates - what’s not to love?! Every staff member was friendly and helpful - I don’t think there’s one person that didn’t come by and say hi or ask how we were doing at some point during the night. Even the chefs came out towards the end of the evening to ask how the meal was. Definitely felt welcomed and not rushed, and loved the family-run vibe they have going on.
All in all, we loved the place and will definitely be back. If you’re ever in London and trying to decide where to go for dinner, do yourself a favor and...

We made reservations for our tenth anniversary, after wanting to try Dimi's for a long time. We arrived promptly and immediately noticed it was pretty busy. Okay, it's Saturday, that's understandable.
Then we were seated at a tiny table smack dab inbetween two tables each with at least six people in each booth DIRECTLY next to us.
At first I was impressed they had plexi glass when we walked in, until I realized I could literally POKE the person next to me on each side of the table as the Plex glass did not cover about a foot gap away from the seats. No exaggeration, on each side there was maybe 8 inches to the next person. We felt very uncomfortable so I asked if we could be seated on the patio.. but it was all booked up. No space out there.
So we left and went to another place which was well socially distanced and much less cramped.
I get that space is a bit limited here and that's completely understandable, but even if we weren't in Covid times I would say that this restaurant was packed! That's how NOT socially distanced it was. I'm not even sure how they can allow such large groups to gather together at restaurants. It was also mostly loud students, which..whatever but everyone was crammed next to eachother in each group which can't be covid friendly.
It's unfortunate, we were really pumped to try it here after hearing great things but this experience left a really bad taste in our mouth (not literally) .
All it will take is one person in this place to have covid and it will become a outbreak event.
I recommend they open earlier and have less people seated in at a time because honestly, this was ridiculous. We only spent maybe ten min there and I am feeling paranoid now....
Read moreLast month, I visited my brother and his wife in Canada and decided to try this highly recommended spot. Coming from Chicago—a city that knows good food—my expectations for food are sky-high. So, naturally, I had to put this spot to the ultimate test.
The place has an upscale vibe but keeps things approachable, which is always a win. It was a Friday night, so the place was packed! It was on the louder side, a little louder than I typically like, so if you're looking for a quiet, intimate space for dinner I don't think this is the place for that. At least not on the weekend. The owner came and talked to us a few times, which was great, but the actual server we had could have been a little more attentive. I found myself wondering how long it's been since we were last approached by her, or simply asked about how our food was.
Now for the food: We went all in and ordered a little bit of everything:
The hummus dip plate with pita (Pikilia) Grilled calamari Grilled octopus Tuna Tartare Lamb Chops (from the "mains" page) Lemon-Pesto Gnocchi
The Lamb Chops deserve a standing ovation (10/10, would come back to Canada for these), and the Lemon-Pesto Gnocchi was chef's kiss. Both dishes were perfectly cooked, full of flavor, and the kind of dishes that make you wish for seconds even when you’re full. The Grilled Octopus was another favorite—tender and delicious.
The Tuna Tartare, though, was a letdown. It didn’t match the description on the menu, and the flavors fell flat. When I brought it up to the owner, he explained the chef switches ingredients based on what’s in season. Fair enough, but it would’ve been helpful to know ahead of time. If you’re considering ordering it, I’d recommend asking for any changes to the dish first.
Overall, this place is a great choice for a lively dinner with great food! Perfect for a fun night out...
