Dinkel's & Paulo's Restaurants — Restaurant in Ontario

Our dining experience began with a Caesar salad, for myself and for my husband fresh mussels. The fresh mussels were served in a tasty wine sauce with chopped onion garlic, and fresh herbs.  The mussels were cooked perfectly by Chef, Paul Travis. They were plump and fresh tasting, not the least bit gritty. I have had many Caesar salads, but none compared to the freshness and taste of the one I had at Dinkel's.

For my husband the entree consisted of  two Beef tournedos’ wrapped in bacon, served with roasted potatoes and fresh broccoli and baby carrots. The beef was tender and flavorful. The tournedos were definitely a hit.

I truly enjoyed the tender chicken breast marinated with fresh lemon thyme. I was definitely impressed with this dish. The chicken was so juicy and full of flavor. It paired nicely with the baby roasted potatoes, fresh carrots and broccoli all Ontario grown.

Upon saying a farewell to the sun and enjoying the now gentle summer breeze our meal came to an end with dessert. I savoured every last bite of my caramel apple cheesecake. I can't even describe how wonderful it was. My husband enjoyed the triple mouse chocolate raspberry cake, which was absolutely delicious I might ad. Both desserts were served with diced strawberry, kiwi and drizzled syrup.

Overall, the  food, service, and ambience made for a great relaxing fine...

Wonderful quality time spent with mom today.. No one does appetizers or woodfired oven cooked pizzas like this restaurant! The mussels were fresh. so plump and were in my favourite sauce. meunière! It is evident that this restaurant’s intention for their guests is to feed them well. The best ingredients, dishes executed well and generous portions. The Calamari Fritti a la Joso has been a favourite of our family’s for almost three decades, along with the Bocconcini, tomato, red onion as caper salad with Balsamic vinaigrette. The pizza as suggested by our amazing server, Tansy, was over the top delicious! Tomato sauce, mozzarella, prosciutto, fresh pear and fresh basil added right after coming out of the wood-fired oven. So happy to finish off our meal with chocolate raspberry mousse cake and vanilla raspberry Tartufo rolled in coconut served with a generous amount of berries and citrus and a dollop of freshly whipped cream. Very quiet, homey setting - great atmosphere overall, wonderful cheerful and friendly staff and of course the food and drinks are top-notch in quality. Not a budget option by any means, but the pricing seems reasonable for the quantity, quality and service that you're getting. We have never left here without feeling pleasantly stuffed, and usually with a carry out box in tow.

This is one of our go-to places for special occasions - birthdays, date nights and anniversaries - so we have tried more than half of the pasta options, several of the other entrées and almost all of the pizzas and everything we have tried has been fantastic. Desert has been good when we've had room for it.

Some excellent inexpensive wines are on the regular menu, but lately we have been going with whatever Italian beer is in stock and haven't been disappointed there either.

Overall, simply a really fine Italian restaurant which is very unlikely...
