Dino's Pizza — Restaurant in Ontario

If you ever read my other Google reviews, you'll see I have an eye for the best of foods and the hidden gems wherever I find them. I've tried pizzas from easily 200 different establishments - ranging from the basic franchise you see everywhere to the inviting wood fire stoves and supreme quality of Little Italy in Ottawa. In all that searching, not once have I found a pizza that I can honestly say beats Dino's. It may be a slight twinge of nostalgia, although despite growing up in Pembroke I never did have Dino's very often. It may be the staff. I would bet big money that Dino is just the kindest owner you'll ever have a conversation with, in fact, all of the staff is uncommonly cheery and light hearted. It could even be because this modest little food court business is sincerely humble... but I know at the core it's none of that. It is and always has been the pizza. It just does everything right! It is big, it is generous, it has thick cheese that is a little solid so as to not get messy. It's almost the proportions of a Gabriel's za, it's a meal you could eat with a fork and knife. The fine bacon crumble they use is uniquely salty and with a deep flavour. It is always cooked perfectly, the bottom is lightly golden and I'm sure if you asked for it well done they'd be happy to leave it in longer. Now go, get this pizza. I'm not even giving you a choice, go get a slice, or better yet get a whole za and share it with your favourite people. Use it to turn your enemies into loyal friends. In 2001 as a college student, I worked at the Pembroke Mall and would consistently get Dino's Pizza (specifically the 1 slice, side caesar salad with a drink) on lunch or dinner break. I absolutely adored the food! Delicious pizza, the caesar salad was amazing (that dressing is what did it!). I moved away later that year. Twenty years later and I found myself back at the Pembroke Mall today and saw Dino's. The very first thing I did was order my favorite combo for a little slice (pun intended!) of nostalgia. I have no words to describe the trip down memory lane this took me. It was every bit as delicious as I distinctly remember it being, 20 years ago. I cannot recommend this place enough.
