Eastside Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Ontario

I generally love Eastside Bar & Grill! I love the food, love the service, love the karaoke! Tonight was the first time I was supremely disappointed. We brought 3 friends and bragged about our favourite bar. One friend was visiting from Thunder Bay, one used a walker and another was in a power wheelchair. The front ramp was completely iced up. We were forced to walk through a very icy parking lot, which is no easy feat with a walker. Once we finally got seated, we were told that there was no karaoke. (I had called mid week and told yes there was) apparently because they had a sold out band they cancelled karaoke that morning. We arrived around 5:30 and were told that we needed to leave around 6:30 so that people that had purchased tickets could come. We proceeded to order our dinner and drinks. The food was wonderful as usual but we felt unwelcome and like we needed to hurry up. The entire time we were eating dinner the band was setting up and testing sound equipment. Drums. etc... not conducive to a great dining experience. Very dissapointing..... I feel sad for our friends that don't get out much. I still love you eastside but... this was not a fun experience. Took my brother and his girlfriend out for his birthday. My brother had hyped up the burger for me to try, and the waitor recommended it as well. We sat on the patio, and the bees were a bit annoying, unfortunately, which I hope isn't a consistent problem.

Eastside Burger (7.8/10). It was a good burger. However, it didn't feel like enough, and I think Eastside would benefit from a double burger or double cheeseburger option on the menu. Salad was good that I had with it as well.

Chicken Fingers with Hot Sauce & Fries w/Gravy (7.8/10). My brother got this, and I tried it and had no real complaints other than the hot sauce. It was very vinegary without much flavor, but it had heat. Fries were crispy and deep fried, and brown beef gravy was good.

We have been there many times, has always been an enjoyable experience in the past. When we went in Friday February 14th 2025 it was the worst experience we have ever had. Paid a $10 per person cover charge (reasonable) and waited over 30 miniutes without any attempt by any waitress to serve us. 3 looked right at us at different times but never came over. They were only worried about a group beside us of about 15 people. After a half hour we decided to leave and ask for our cover charge back, after explaining why we wanted it back we were asked if they wanted them to get us a waitress, we said no and that we were leaving because of the terrible service. Shame on you Eastside for treating customers who tip 30% like this for a table that you shared and probably go less than 15% from. I doubt we will ever go back, considering it cost us $35 in cab fair for this...
