Well, last night turned out to be quite a bumpy ride! We decided to test out this place our neighbour had been praising to the skies. We had our eyes on an extra-large pizza topped with feta, black olives, and mushrooms. But much to our chagrin, they were out of black olives, so we ended up swapping to green ones. Barely had we paid when the cashier piped up, saying we'd been undercharged as the feta was priced as two toppings. I thought, "Hold on, your menu board begs to differ!"
The owner swooped in, explaining that feta costs a pretty penny and hence the extra charge. That little interaction earned them my one-star review quicker than you can slice a pizza. And trust me, the rest of the night followed suit.
The pizza was saltier than the sea, probably due to the cheap, high-sodium green olives they used without giving a thought to rinse them to neutralize the feta's saltiness. The crust was as dry as a desert. As if that wasn’t enough, the place had no air conditioning, and it was sweltering outside.
The tables were far from clean and the overall clutter made the place look like a flea market - random books, ads strewn about, and a thick layer of dust. After just a few bites, we decided to cut our losses. The overpowering salt, unbearable heat, and shoddy service had us waving...
Read moreThis has been my go-to pizza place for years, probably at least 15 - 20 years by now. I've not met anyone who doesn't like the deluxe pizza: it's a nice thin crust with plenty of toppings (pepperoni, ham, bacon, mushrooms, green olives, green pepper, and (I believe) onion). When the kids were growing up, Goody's pizza was our pick hands down.
As for price, you can still grab a large deluxe for under $20.
I'm posting this because the only other reviews I saw were two very negative reviews and that just has NOT been my experience through all the years I've been a customer. Any restaurant that's been around the years Goody's has, will have had the odd order go sideways whether it's miscommunication or a problem with food quality. It happens.
But the mere longevity of this restaurant should tell you that the food is great and that the customers keep coming back. So that fact alone should give you pause before you base a decision based on two poor reviews. I can guarantee you they are the outliers.

Read moreThis was the worst experience i have ever had. We ordered delivery. We ordered 2 gyro platters, 2 pogos, onion rings, 4oz meat sauce, 4oz tziki and 4oz donair sauce. The food arrives and its $67. I thought thats pretty expensive but i guess....we open the bags and we have 2 gyros, 2 chicken souvlakis, onion rings, 8oz meat sauce, 8 oz tziki, a greek salad and 10-20 french fries. I call and speak to a TERRIBLY RUDE girl who says "sorry" but clearly does not care that we were charged for a bunch of food we did not order. I tell her we want a refund and by all means they can have the food back. She informs me they dont do that. But WE DIDNT ORDER IT!! I ask to speak to the manager and she says hes to busy to talk and he will call me back...im not holding my breathe.
Update: As expected no call came from the manager. I will be contacting my bank about these charges as i have tried to deal directly with the restaurant and they refuse to be professional and deal with their customers complaints.
Also the food was not...
