Haven's Creamery — Restaurant in Ontario

Went here after not having gone for a while, and it was such a disappointing experience. My partner and I both got ice cream on waffle cones, and they were making waffle cones a la minute. Our cones were not cured enough, so they were flabby, chewy, and worst of all warm, which melted our ice cream on contact. The cones were also not rolled tight enough and were not wrapped in tissue paper at the bottom so they started dripping as soon as we got out of the shop. The ice cream themselves (we got three flavours) had a lot of ice crystals which leads us to think that they were not being kept at optimal temperatures.

My partner also got a double scoop but they only had enough of the flavour he ordered. The young lady at the counter scooped the last of the tub and attempted to give him the single scoop without a word that they had run out; we had to tell her that we ordered a double and would just substitute for a different flavour. Meanwhile her co-worker appeared to be chatting with someone behind the counter. Overall a terrible experience on a very hot afternoon that was perfect for...

I have been coming here every now and again for 4 years now. Tonight, I was craving me some Haven's, so I made the trip over.

It was a very quiet place tonight, but that allowed me to talk up my super wonderful server, Rana. She was very kind and polite, and she really went the extra mile. There were no waffle bowls pre-made, so she made me a fresh one on the spot (I was a little hesitant, but she gently insisted, and I have no regrets. It was amazing!)

In my super awesome freshly made waffle bowl, I had a scoop of strawberry with a scoop of their "bloody berry" - which was more like a gelato or sorbet, perhaps. That was such a delicious treat.

Truth be told, I have NEVER been disappointed here. The product is quality and delicious. The people serving have always been next-level customer service superstars. There is so much to love about this place (I also bought 6 of their take-home half-pints.)

Update: We have since visited again and we were both very happy with the experience! The service was top notch, the ice cream exceeded our expectations (candy cane cheesecake, vegan eggnog, peaches and cream cheesecake-- all delicious), and we even took home an excellent bag of their house made toffee. Looking forward to more visits in the future!

Great service, decent ice cream! I visited really close to closing time which I really don't like doing, but was treated kindly and given great service. We tried four different kinds of ice cream, the pear cheesecake and cookie dough were our favourites. The strawberry didn't have much flavour, which was a bit disappointing. My partner also enjoyed the salted caramel. The ice cream wasn't quite as creamy as I was hoping, it had a bit more of an icy consistency but was still pleasant. I will visit again and try...
