Went to this place twice as a table of two. First time was pretty busy so service was delayed and neglectful which is understandable. Took until after asking twice about the milkshake that they actually brought it even though it was after they brought our food. Slightly disappointing first time
Second time being there was completely rude. Walked in and asked if we could sit at a table that was dirty but understood that we would just have to wait for it to get cleaned off. Once we asked, one of the older servers says "No, sit at a clean table" in a very harsh and rude tone. Then maybe after realizing how she sounded she adds "You just have to wait for it to get cleaned off" We already understood that so there was no need for the first rude remark. At the same time we were seated, another group of 6 was seated as well. Our order was taken before theirs and yet still their food arrived and we never got our food, and not even the milkshake we had tried ordering.
Eventually after waiting for close to 25 min, we ended up leaving and it was a complete waste of time. We ordered, two people, before a group of 6, and they got their food before us. Crazy part is that we just ordered a classic breakfast and an eggs Benedict.
First time understandable because you're busy, second time, the restaurant had a total of 6 tables.
Not sure if this is the same quality of service across all Hi-Ho Diners but this one at Howard is definitely the worst. Rude servers, rude remarks, subpar food quality.
If you're gonna go to a breakfast diner, avoid this one to save yourself...
Read moreWe unexpectedly ran into this restaurant on the way home, and saw the signs. They're proud of their broasted chicken and grumpy burger, so we decided to try those two. It was a busy lunch scene, and the servers struggled to serve the floor, but once we ordered, we didn't wait too long for the food to arrive.
The grumpy burger came with a beef patty and a slice of ham. The burger was alright, though I welcomed the generous stack of onion slices. I found the burger reminding me of In-N-Out burger, which is sadly missing in my part of the world. The onion rings were solid and perfectly breaded.
I found the broasted chicken to be perfectly seasoned, reminiscent of KFC seasoning, with Church Chicken consistency. Suffice to say, I devoured my chicken with gusto, glad to know that there is a solid option for when I am craving for broasted chicken in the future. Will definitely visit again with my family.
The restaurant sits on a lot with a motel, so parking can be a pain, especially...
Read moreI am going to update this review now after going here ( unwillingly ) for over 15 months. My 95 year old Mother loves to go here - despite her own reservations about food. Soup and Salad is okay. Caesar dressingis the worst Ive ever tasted.
Burgers were once fresh..frozen to the point of almost being unedible. Fish & Chips okay. Chili and dogs, very bad. Ribs would be a pretty good value, but they've managed to pooch the taste of these also. Meatloaf should be declared a biohazard.
This brings us to their fried chicken. Does anyone in that kitchen have a working taste bud? For over a year every piece has been the equivalent of a meat Salt Lick. Its really really bad.
The breakfast is a pretty good bet.
The staff can be hit or miss re: being attentive. The music can be too loud at times. And be VERY careful to READ the menu. They are not good at taking any negative feedback on food, or taking food back. Chances are you will be charged for what you sent back -- and ordered...
