This happened on Friday November 10, 2023 at around 7:25PM ET, I went to trade in my PS5 in order to upgrade to the new PS5 Slim, I am greeted by a nice cashier who proceeds to help me with the trade in, but then another employee, a male of asian ethnicity comes up to us and tells us he can't do the trade in, I think he was the shift leader, then he says he needs at least 45 minutes before store closing to do it. Tells me to return another day. I explain to him that I had to travel almost an hour just to get there and had to carry the box and everything and it has never taken 45 minutes before just to do this, he tells me he will call his manager and ask if he can stay longer than his shift end time, he makes the call then comes back and says sorry he can't do it because he can't make the other employees stay and other excuses, the whole time he had an attitude like he just didn't want to do his job. I also explained that I called before coming to the store and I wasn't told they need 45 mins just to do this trade in. I ended up going to the other GameStop in the city and they told me it only takes 30 minutes max, and in reality it only took 10 minutes. I am extremely disappointed in the rude way this employee behaved and his attitude towards the customer, he should not be in any customer service position at all and will make the company lose customers because of his behaviour, he also made comments like "you DO know the PS5 slim is basically the same as the regular one?", it was extremely disrespectful and condescending and it made me feel sour towards GameStop as a whole, I almost never write complaints like this but this time I feel like I have to. Please do...
Read moreOn March 28 of 2024 I went into this GameStop at Devonshire Mall. I originally went in there to purchase a new controller for my PlayStation 4 Pro and unfortunately they only had "Refurbished" controllers and not any new ones, I then brought the used controller to the counter and began to ask the employee if it was worth buying a used controller since used controllers tend to have stick drift issues or sticky buttons but she reassured me that they have tested all of their used items and are in properly functioning order. She could not be farther from the truth, as soon as I opened the box there was no sign of a charging cable which is needed when setting up a controller to a console, lucky me that I had an extra cable around from a different controller but again unfortunately once I plugged it into the system it lit up orange indicating that it was charging... I let it charge for an hour and a half and when trying to connect to the console it would flash light blue and never become a solid color and connect. I tried many different methods such as restarting the console, restarting the controller, using a different USB cable, using a different USB port and nothing worked... I later did some research and found out that when a controller flashes light blue and doesn't connect it could possibly mean that that controller hardware is defective and since this was my very first time coming to a GameStop to purchase something, after this experience I have made the decision not to come to GameStop or support them anymore for any reason, Next time I'll stick to my good old local game...
Read moreIf I could give zero stars I would. I have shopped many times in this store, I used to love finding treasures in it. I have been a customer for over 15 years and always recommend. I will never shop there again and will discourage anyone I know from giving them business. I was at the mall a couple weeks ago and something caught my eye so I proceeded to go in the store. The employee ran over and shouted come back when you’re done. I was a bit confused and said pardon me, he then stated no ice cream in the store. I had a drink from Starbucks and said it’s not ice cream, it’s just a drink. He kind of scoffed and said get out and come back when you’re done. I left the store and stated I would not be back. I was only carrying my drink, so I wasn’t juggling or struggling to hold on to it. I am very respectful of stores and there is a way to approach people in customer service, this was not it. Had the employee come over and respectfully said, we don’t allow food or drink in the store, I would have gladly apologized and said I’d come back when it was finished. His soft skills were not there and the way he was smirking and presenting himself and the business was gross. There are other places like this to take my business and I will definitely be doing that from now on. What a...
