Let's start with the good stuff. Wow! The food is incredible and the service is top notch! We had the chicken Karahi, white chicken korma, chana masala and saag paneer. I can't choose which I liked best because they were all phenomenal. The saag paneer is the best I've ever had. And the other dishes were equally as flavourful! Omg, the food was SO GOOD!! Do not sleep on this place. Despite appearances... which leads me to the "bad". I don't like the choice of bad though, it's more just constructive criticism because selfishly I want this place to stay open because it's so good! Ok, first of all, had I not seen the high review rating, I might have been deterred from eating here. The atmosphere is not inviting at all. The patio is barren and looks abandoned. It's in serious need of some TLC. The interior does not represent the level of food and service at all. There is no decor whatsoever and it looks like the place just opened, and too early at that. All of this being said, do not let this keep you from eating here. I would 100% recommend. I really hope they address the anesthetic because it would be such a shame to lose this place to...
Read moreI went to Kashmir Grill with my family today and had a fantastic experience. There were 4 of us present, and we got the family platter since we thought it would be a safe bet for a new restaurant. Out came an absolute smorgasbord of various sizzling chicken and beef meats, vegetables, rice, naan bread, and various sauces and sides. The first couple bites were an explosion of flavour, with a complex, yet expertly chosen combination of herbs, spices, and marinades perimiating every item on the platter. The naan bread soaked up the excess spices and made clearing the plate a delicious experience before going in for seconds.
Everyone in my family enjoyed every minute of our dining, and at $99 for the platter, the price per person was great considering what a night out costs these days. If you are on the fence about trying this place out and are reading this review, I hope you give it a try. The folks running this place clearly put their heart and soul into each dish. I will be looking forward to my next...
Read moreHighly recommended, food was delicious. Flavours were tasty and serving sizes appropriate. I had the tikka masala chicken which I asked for in a med hot, heat factor was perfect although I did find the sauce a little too sweet. Someone mentioned in a previous review that using whole chicken vs boneless is not traditional, maybe true but preparation time is longer and North American tastes tend to prefer white meat in dishes. Unlike many similar restaurants there was no excess oil floating on the surface of my dish. My wife a vegetarian had the vegetable rice which both of us enjoyed. The rice included many whole veggies rather than typical cube frozen variety. Service was attentive, friendly and timely. Mango lassi was really good. Be warned that at this time there is no alcohol served….maybe religious observances by owner or waiting for license? Our meal cost was very reasonable at less than $60 including tip. Hopefully the newly repaired patio will be...
