Ordered online at lunch today and pre-paid for my order. When I arrived at the restaurant I was told there was a balance owed for my order by the cashier, I explain I pre-paid and showed the receipt sent to my email. Still was told it showed I owed money, had to get someone in the back to explain it was an error on their system and happens sometimes with online orders because of different promotions. Decided to order a fountain drink while I waited for my food to be ready like I usually do, just tapped my card. Got my food and went back to work, food was okay. Realized a bit later while checking my bank statement that I was overcharged for the drink by a few dollars. I got sent a survey to fill out so decided to let them know my issues from today. A little while later I get a phone call from the store and it’s the cashier from earlier, I wasn’t expecting much but wasn’t expecting them to berate me over the phone for putting in a semi-bad review. They tried to say I took a bottled drink which is why I was charged more, but I didn’t I ordered a fountain drink and that’s what I received from the cashier so I told them to check their camera and then asked for the manager and was told that he was the new store manager, very unprofessional to say the least. I could hear him taking peoples orders while yelling on the phone at me; which when I pointed out he hung up the phone. Can’t say I’ll be back, which is a shame since I usually grab lunch there at least once per week. Already had an issue last Friday when I ordered food for a family dinner to be ready at 5:30, went in at 5:40 and was told it wasn’t ready but would only be a few minutes; no big deal it was kind of busy…didn’t get my order till...

Read moreI had hoped that with the remodel, they would have made the restaurant more accessible. And while desperately needed upgrades did take place (they had no baby change table at all before!), other areas that needed work did not receive any.
Access ramps, door buttons, food delivery, ability to pre-order and easier to read menus...
To even enter the dining area inside the restaurant, you have to go down a few steps. Which sure, isn't many. To people who have limits to their mobility, it's a nightmare.
This store might as well have a neon sign out front saying "Disabled People Not Welcome"
And correct me if I am wrong, but I believe that is actually against the law.
Access to services is a right for all people, not just abled citizens.
Then again, this is only a microcosm of the discrimination against disabled people face in this city. Numerous businesses or buildings are just flat out inaccessible to disabled people.
But I digress.
Overall, the food at this restaurant is decent, although they do need to work more on order accuracy and food preparation.
The service is the one true saving grace of this place. Most of the staff are friendly, courteous, and actually do try to remember regulars and familiar faces.
Giving this place 3/5 is being generous.
Congratulate your staff.
They are pretty much the only incentive to visit.
Again, I do highly suggest you do update your building to match the Canadian Disabilities Act standards.
