July 17th 2019. My wife and I where in Brockville for the day and we decided to have Sushi. So we thought we would try out Kochi Sushi. So we go in and look at the menu and we order our first round which was Miso soup and an order of California rolls. So we got that and the miso soup was ok but the California rolls where bland to say the least. During that time my wife asked for a glass of pino grigio wine and I asked for a large Saki. So then I started to order sushi but in doing so I asked if they had red or white tuna. The waitress replied yes it's in the fridge. I didn't quite understand and I asked her again she replied the same. So she went off and I asked my wife did she say what I thought she said! And my wife replied yes. So when she came back with the sushi order we had I asked her what it was going to cost me to get the tuna out if the fridge?? She said no tuna!!! So to make a long story short we ordered a bit more and my wife asked for another wine and I asked for a small Saki and she asked me if I was driving and I said yes but the large saki I had was my first drink of the day and I was fine to have the second. Well she cut me off!! So we got up and left my wife paid the bill and they wanted to charge for what we had coming and my wife said no! I was so steamed I walked out and said never again will I set foot in this place!! I'm 62 year old Male never have I been caught for impaired driving and never have I ever in my life walked out of a restaurant without finishing. I have been around the world 31/2 times and had sushi in some of the best places in the world. I know what my limits are and that experience for both my wife and I was the worst I've ever had. Read moreWe arrived at 9:18 and were met at the door with the statement that they were closing at 10 and we could only order until 9:30. Then the waitress only gave us all-you-can-eat menus at $27 each. I only figured it out by asking to order beef fried rice to go (in addition to the sushi we were ordering to eat in-house) and she then told me we couldn’t order anything to go. The waitress was unbelievably aggressive in getting the order placed. Even after being asked three times to please “give me a minute,” she still hovered over me, pointing at different items as I was trying to look at the menu, talking nonstop in a very rushed manner. I finally put my head in my hands and said, “Let’s just go” to my daughter. But she had her heart set on sushi and protested. I asked the waitress to “please stop” and let me look at the menu. She insisted that udon noodles were rice noodles, and I pulled up on my phone that they were not. During the meal, two additional people came over to tell us they closed at 10. When she brought the bill, I just wanted to look at it, and she took it out of my hand, hovered over it, talking and pointing nonstop. This time, I didn’t say anything, but just stared at her without looking at the bill. She stopped. I don’t think you should get treated that way for walking in 40 minutes before close time. I ate here first on 2017 and our first time was not at all pleasant. The waitstaff with short hair was not a single bit accommodating and would raise her voice at you and show agitation. The other staff with her was the one who talked to us after she walked out, and she was FAR NICER than the cranky one. Sadly, we never saw her serve there again. We kept coming back after that and just shrugged that off because the food was indeed delicious and good for the price and if it is not the only sushi restaurant near by we wouldnt have. Almost every month or twice. The service didn't improve and we definitely experienced a lot of terrible service.
We were here for the renovations and the additional workers. The other staffs now are not as "rude" but definitely lacking courtesy. My last experience here wasnt good as they would make you feel like you HAVE TO LEAVE when you are done eating. The restaurant wasn't even full and they would just make you feel unwanted.
If another sushi bar establishes in Brockville, I know for sure this restaurant will lose their customers in a snap ...
