Review of Main 88: A Disappointing Experience

My recent visit to Main 88 was nothing short of a complete disappointment. From the moment we arrived, it was clear this restaurant has serious issues.

Firstly, the wait times were excruciatingly long. We waited over an hour past our reservation time, despite the restaurant not being full. This set the tone for the evening, leaving us frustrated and hungry.

Once seated, our hopes for a redeeming meal were quickly dashed. The food quality was shockingly poor. Dishes that were supposed to be fresh and flavorful were bland and clearly reheated. It was a stark reminder of how a restaurant can fall short on its most basic promise: good food.

our waiter was noticeably intoxicated. Her slurred speech and unsteady demeanor made us uncomfortable from the start. Worse still, she leaned in close to us repeatedly, breathing heavily in our faces. It was beyond unprofessional; it was downright disgusting. Her behavior completely destroyed any remaining appetite we had left.

Beyond the culinary and service disappointments, there's an even more disturbing aspect to Main 88: the atmosphere felt unwelcoming and racially charged. Several comments made by staff members and the general vibe of the place left us feeling uneasy. It's 2024, and encountering such overt racism in a supposedly reputable establishment is not just disappointing but deeply troubling.

Main 88 failed miserably on every front. From the racist people inside that building to the food quality and unacceptably long wait times to the unprofessional and offensive behavior of the staff, this restaurant is a clear example of what should be avoided at all costs. Save your time, money, and dignity by steering...

Had high expectations for this place as it was a so called "hidden gem" in the town. But food quality and service did not live up to the hype at all...…. The wings were extremely over cooked, almost black in the inside, with a odour I cannot explain. The pizza was the biggest disappointment of all, It took 40 minutes to come, and it was cold and very salty. I could not finish more than a slice. I also felt very uncomfortable in the atmosphere as it just consisted mostly of customers who were drunk and out of control. I think they were people who lived in the town that felt they had the right to belittle other customers whom they did not know. It may be hard to believe but even the waitress was not writing down our orders and even forgot what we ordered. She brought us the wrong items and we had to wait even longer. It seems this establishment does not care to use this constructive criticism to improve as they keep trying to take down my review 🤷 I hope they improve as I am always routing for small...

I ordered takeout from Main 88. I ordered one pizza and 1lb of chicken wings. I enjoyed the food so much I needed to come spread the word.

The chicken wings are MASSIVE, I was sincerely surprised at just how heavy the box of chicken wings was. The sauce (medium) was very tasty and the wing was tender, not dry. So far, for me, this is the best chicken wing among Caledonia and Hagersville.

I found the pizza a tad on the greasy side but I get it, it's packed with real ingredients. I ordered bacon and got the real deal, not the bagged bacon bits that you get at the chains.

It was on the expensive side, clocking in at about 34 dollars for pizza and wings, but I was very satisfied with what I got. I will continue driving from Caledonia for this pizza, which has to say something considering Caledonia has at least five pizza joints now.

The women who briefly served me in the restaurant were super pleasant.
