Great frozen desserts. An interesting experience. I'd be highly wary if you have nut or peanut allergies however. The nature of the food preparation levels itself to nut oil cross contamination fairly easily, while remaining still within accepted proper food service practices. I have family members with such concerns. Loved our first visit here. Was well worth the drive across the entire city of London from the 401. It was date night and this seems to be popular for exactly that. I didn't find any stickiness during my visit. A pet peeve of mine at ice cream parlours. There's no reason you should come across sticky floors or surfaces in a restaurant of any type. Nice to see staff keeping the place up well. The available options! I imagine that the number of potential options and combinations would factor somewhere in the hundreds of thousands of possible combinations. And even then no two orders will never be the same as it's hand blended preparation makes each mouthful unique. Generous portions and no goods barred on the options and add-ons. Price point excellent for a dessert bar. One customer was buying hand mixed I've cream dessert by the litre for take home. There were freezer cabinets full of ready made I've cream dessert cakes for special occasions. The options of how to make them are staggering! During our visit we and all other customers were being served by one big shouldered young fella expertly hand mixing our orders whilst the other fella was busy preparing the delicious waffle cones and bowls and hand dipping into various chocolate coatings. Ample eat in seating. Comfy bench seats, trackers and chairs. Wheelchair accessible you might find it a stretch to peer into the freezers but they were clearly labelled too. Bright and cheerful, clean and tidy. A well oiled machine. As for all the delectable dessert options.. if you've got a craving for ice cream this is a marvelous place to go. Plenty of free mall parking. Bring the kids, or sneak out for date night desserts. It's a...
Read moreToday, I was at Masonville again because of a co-worker’s recommendation. He couldn’t believe I haven’t been to Marble Slab Creamery.
I walked in and instantly saw their inventory of waffle cones (there were different types, like sprinkle, vanilla sugar, white chocolate, dark chocolate, Butterfinger, Skor, and so on). They have a Grab & Go! station, where they keep refrigerated items to take home.
I took a small cup of rocky road ice cream and got a raspberry and blueberry smoothie as well. This rocky road had chocolate ice cream, whole marshmallows, and pieces of walnuts. It tasted perfect but was melting and spilling over the cup as they gave it to me. The smoothie had a raspberry base. They allowed three fruits to be in my smoothie, but I only wanted raspberries and blueberries.
That wasn’t enough for me, so I bought their Poko popcorn. It was the salted butter flavour and a big bag, but they sell these bags at $9.79! Even for me, that is WAY overpriced.
The only major flaw of Marble Slab is the pricing. There are cheaper options just as good.
My bill was $27.27.
I have come to a conclusion…. I can’t stay away from Masonville. Jokes aside, Marble Slab is still viable. They have reached their success because people love...
Read moreVisited this location based on reviews and felt rushed throughout. There was only one other person after us. It was our First time in any marble slab location so we weren't sure what the flavours were like. My husband asked to sample two flavours and the lady was rude and reminded him that we can't try more than 3 flavours . I can understand if she said that after we tried three flavours. I run a business too so I know how negligible the costs of a tasting is. I wanted to leave immediately but my husband felt obliged to buy from the two he tasted. We didn't enjoy the flavour and felt rushed throughout . After we sat down to eat, we realised there were syrups and chocolates and other toppings we didn't see because she was in a rush to get us to buy the first thing or leave. Not going back. Baskin robbins and works mae are courteous...
