These momos are lifechanging. I grew up eating boiled and steamed dumplings my entire life, and I can certainly say that momos are the best dough-wrapped-fillings I have ever had.
The dough itself is nice and firm, provides a good chew while still being soft. It holds on its own, doesn't fall apart, but doesn't get in the way of experiencing the filling. It's also a great vehicle for sauce. The filling itself is always amazing, no matter what it is. The meat fillings are seasoned to perfection and wonderfully savory, I could eat just the filling and it would still get a 5 star review. The veggie fillings have tofu, a very caring touch for vegetarians who want protein. The sauce that's given with the momos is the real showstopper, though the momos certainly don't need any help. The sauce is the perfectly balanced mix of tangy, garlicy, herbal with a hint of heat (more heat, if you ask for it). It's such a perfect sauce that complements the curry flavour of the momos fillings so well, I could eat that sauce with anything for the rest of my life and I'd enjoy it. It's just a really damn good sauce, and very thoughtful on Momo's part to just sell containers of it.
I've also tried several curries, the lamb, goat and chicken. It's amazing, what can I say. Chicken was so tender and moist I forgot it was chicken. Lamb was fall off the bone. Goat had that goat chew that you should really expect from goat, I have no idea what other comments are talking about, that's just how goat is, dude. The curry flavour is also a little tangy on top of the curry spice mix, and it is a GENEROUS PORTION. It's enough for an entire 2 days for me (I do OMAD), and I'd never get sick of it.
Another standout on the menu are the drinks, specifically the vegan Nepali tea. I don't like chai, sorry it's a character flaw, but this hits the mildly spiced and very creamy tea profile that I know other people love in chai. To me, it's chai but better. The vegan version in particular is EXTRA creamy with such huge depth of flavour from the coconut and almond milks used. It's not just a milk replacement, but I feel like it truly enhances the drink in a way that makes me prefer the vegan version. The vegan version is also always made fresh to order. Seriously one of the best tea drinks I've ever had.
I live really far from the market, but every week I try to go (thanks Lydia), and the weeks I can't, I eat that $6 UberEats delivery for my momos and curry. If you're ever in the vicinity of the market on a Saturday, it's worth going. Get the momos,...
Read moreAbsolutely love Momos at the Market! This is my third time visiting, and it just keeps getting better every time. We ordered the platter with goat curry and chicken curry both were packed with rich, authentic flavors that truly hit the spot. The meat was tender, the spices perfectly balanced, and the portions were generous. We also tried the Nepalese tea, which was warm, comforting, and the perfect complement to the meal.
And of course, our visit wouldn’t be complete without getting their momos! We had all their flavors, chicken, pork, beef, and vegetables and I honestly love them all. Each one is juicy, flavorful, and perfectly crafted. You can really taste the care and authenticity in every bite.
Beyond the incredible food, the people working there are so friendly and welcoming. Their hospitality really adds to the overall experience, making you feel right at home.
If you’re looking for delicious, authentic Nepali cuisine with great vibes, this place is a must visit!...
Read moreDelicious momos! They have the choice of vegetarian momos, Buffalo momos, chicken, or pork momos. Each order of momos comes with momos sauce and optional spicy sauce. Tried their chicken, pork, and veggie momos and all were flavourful and hearty! The momos sauce that comes with the momos are delicious and compliments the dish. On a side note, I found the taste of tumeric somewhat prominent in the sauce, which I enjoyed. The spicy sauce has a nice heat to it! Also tried their juices. They kindly wrote the name of each juice on top of the lid and the juices tasted very fresh. Their Nepali tea was amazing, it was a bit to sweet for my personal liking, I just added more milk and it was perfect. The blend of spices and sweetness felt so warm and comforting. I'd definitely have to try their momos and Nepali tea...
