My friends and I enjoyed the Top of the Fair Restaurant buffet and after a great conversation with Sylvia ( who represents the Race wonderfully), I was given an amazing opportunity to sit in the pace car and ride with the gentlemen to see the race from another perspective. All I could say was WWWOOOWWW!! Thank-you gentlemen for allowing me to have this experience. It was amazing to be so close (about 10 feet away ?) to the horses and drivers. There is no sound like thundering horses. They are beautiful creatures and I felt privileged to be so close. My husband and I were invited a few years ago and this opportunity was simply the icing on the racing cake. Thank-you so very much for this wonderful memory. Thanks to the everyone for a GREAT day!! We look forward to coming again and again.

First of all I just say 180$ for two people is ridiculous on valentines for the food we got the only thing that was good was the salad and salmon cake the steak was super dry I was actually nervous to swallow out of fear of choking I just kept chewing and chewing the potatoes told the whole story as they had the texture and taste that they have just been sitting under a heat lamp for hours they veggies were undercooked and mild warm. The desert was also disappointing.Me and my wife were very disappointed. I paid for five star service, food, atmosphere. Go anywhere else's the food will better chop keg brewhouse or any other steak house. Would have made more sense to spend 180 on the slot machines downstairs. This was just the food no drink....not worth it folks

Hutton House and the Ontario Disability Employment Network co-hosted an event here on May 15th. The food was great ,the service was fantastic and the ambiance- with live harness racing as a backdrop- was unique and memorable. A highly recommended place to host an event!

We visited Top of the Fair at the Western Fairgrounds last night and, unfortunately, left feeling quite disappointed. The buffet-only setup cost around $200 for two people, including two beers and one pop, which still felt steep considering the quality and atmosphere.

I was really looking forward to trying the food because I’ve enjoyed their tastings so much at the Food and Wine Show. That made this experience even more disappointing. Buffets are a challenge for even a great chef — it’s tough to keep food warm and tasting fresh — and unfortunately, this one didn’t pull it off. Some dishes were dry even though we were among the first to go through the line.

The decor and ambiance were also stuck in the 2000s. It hasn’t been updated in years, and it really shows. The music was bland, more like elevator background noise, which added to the dated feel.

On the bright side, our server was fantastic — friendly, attentive, and the horse racing itself was fun to watch!

It’s a shame because the venue has so much potential, especially with the racing. A modern refresh and a more versatile menu could make this a really unique, exciting place. As it stands, though, I can’t imagine anyone under 50 enjoying it much, and I would expect if you’re above 50 you’d likely still grumble over the value for the money.

I wouldn’t recommend it in its current state, but I truly hope they consider making some changes — the location...

I wish I could give zero stars. Where to begin?? My entire family of 15 people, including out of town guests, came for Mothers Day in 2022. What should have been a fun day and a nice meal was absolutely disastrous. We had to ask our server for our basket of pastries four times before she finally brought it. Drinks were left empty, coffee had no milk or sugar, just the very basics were severely lacking. They had a fixed menu, which seemed fine, but you could make absolutely NO modifications to your meal. I don’t care for sunny side up eggs so I asked that it be flipped and cooked on the other side. I was informed that all the food was cooked earlier in the day and they couldn’t flip the egg. Seriously? For $75 pp you can’t flip an egg? I was stuck with a cold, runny, rubbery sunny side up egg. The steak that came with the egg was so freezer burned it was completely inedible. The manager came over and offered me $25 off my meal…A MEAL I DIDN’T EAT!!! Absolutely horrid food, terrible service (although I felt awful for the overworked, understaffed servers). I see they are having a similarly styled brunch for this upcoming Mothers Day and wanted to caution you as to what you may be walking in to. What on earth happened to TotF? This place used to be a must visit for us but it’s gone downhill and fast. We will NOT...

First visit back to the Top of the Fair and many years. The horse racing was a blast the food was sub par at best. We had a table for 7. Roasted Chicken was very dry, burger was small , cold and dried out. Four of us had fries with dinner and every one of us had cold fries. Cold fires are the worst. Top of the Fair was known for top notice food. They must be off their game.

Edit. To the Owners. Thanks so much for taking the time to reach out to us and make this right. In today's world so many just sweep reviews under the rug and move on. I really appreciate the time you took to reach out to us and give you a second chance. We look forward to coming back

Edit 2. To the Owners, Management and Staff we were able to get back this week. The meal was nothing like our first visit. To be sure we had the roasted chicken and the burger again. It was very nice to see the menu had be re done with a few extra nice items. We were taken care of above and beyond what we could hope. We will be back to the Top of Fair many more times and will be bringing even more...
