Driven by 1000's of times but only now learned that it was owned by one of the Day family. I've been a fan of the whole family for years. I'm more of a grab a quick coffee, drive thru kind of girl so honestly never gave it much thought. Absolutely a bad idea.
First off, walked in and the line up was to the door, however it was lunch time and the local high school kids were flocking here.
The menu is small but mighty. I sadly wasn't hungry so was only after some pastries. I got an almond croissant, a chocolate hazelnut croissant, a banana loaf and a carrot cake.
Took it all home. Handed the carrot cake to my hubby who ate the whole thing without giving me a single bite! Rude! Said it was really good. I tried the almond croissant. It was heavenly.
After dinner my family and I split the other 2 pastries. The hazelnut croissant is sweet, almost too sweet but it's chocolate hazelnut spread... What else would you expect? Still tasty though!
The banana bread. A little loaf of perfection. Soft, pillowy, flavourful, and all around incredible. 10/10!
I told my Mom this was owned by Matt as she and my Dad are the ones who introduced me to his Dad. My Mom went there shortly after I told her and got their smoked turkey sandwich.
My parents shared it as they are HUGE! The sandwich, not my parents lol My Mom made sure they saved about a 1/4 of it and brought it to my house.
When I tell you this sandwich melted in my mouth and tasted phenomenal even after being made at least 4 to 4.5 hours prior. It was absolutely worth the price.
It's not cheap in there but honestly, knowing the Day family, you truly are getting the best ingredients, that are thoughtful chosen and truly are quality.
I know this was long but I wanted to give an accurate dispiction of what to expect...
Read moreSpacious coffee shop that’s feels welcoming. The tables are made of pretty wood and the chairs are low and very comfortable (unless you sit at a high table). The service was very friendly and knowledgeable. I had a spiced apple cider and it came in a large mug and was steaming hot. Very yummy. The sandwiches looked very good on display and I look forward to trying one at my next visit.
Update: I’ve been multiple times. To sit in and as well as the drive through. The staff is so friendly and knowledgeable about what they are serving. I’ve tried 3 sandwiches now -both breakfast croissant sandwiches and the prosciutto sandwich, and they were all delicious- fresh in house made bread and croissant and the flavours bursting in your mouth. The croissant is light and fluffy. Recommend the Monsieur Croissant breakfast sandwich. They have 3 different types of mochas I really enjoy as well. Everything on the menu is delicious. I love Nora’s- might just be my new favourite coffee shop in town.
Tip: Don’t got between 10:55-1pm during the week or you’ll get stuck in large line ups because of the high...
Read moreI had the pleasure of visiting Nora’s for the first time on Monday October 14 and will most definitely be back the next time I pass through Kingston. The sandwiches were delicious, the staff were very kind and welcoming, and the service was prompt. My partner and I ordered the prosciutto sandwich and the breaded veal parm, and ended up switching sandwiches halfway through as we both could not decide which was better. The sandwiches were around $15 each, which may seem steep to some, however for the large portion size, flavour profile of the sandwiches and the fresh, quality ingredients, we didn’t mind the price one bit. We opted to go into the cafe, however there is also a drive thru option as well. We look forward to returning on our next visit and...
