My wife, myself, her sister and her husband came here this evening to try it out. The food was absolutely fantastic. It had an awesome homemade taste, not like other pasta places like Eastside Mario’s. The sauces were unbelievably good. They had a unique taste that tasted like home. The portions were very good, they didn’t overload you with too much of one ingredient. I had the lasagna which wasn’t loaded with too much ricotta, like some places due to make up for the lack of pasta used in the lasagna was so well seasoned I honestly can’t say that I’ve ever tasted it better. my wife had the chicken fettuccine linguine. She absolutely loved it, her only gripe about it is that it could’ve used a little bit more garlic, but we’re not sure if that’s something that comes with it or not. My sister-in-law had the chicken fettuccine what she said was so delicious and filling, and my brother-in-law had the spaghetti and he just absolutely loved it. The service was good, they came to us immediately and did advised us that it would take a few minutes, but we didn’t wait long for our drinks we had starter, which was the spinach dip and it had sliced bread. If we were to make a gripe about the starter, I would say that maybe next time that they would include naan bread. is a small restaurant more of a deli, but they do have enough seating capacity for about 40 people, the tables aren’t necessarily close, but they’re not really far away either. If it is busy, there would likely be not very much privacy.. Our server was very friendly, and. the price was very reasonable about $15-$25 per person, but what we ordered was more on the expensive side. Regular customers of Eastside Marios I can tell you that for the food that we ordered here and the quality we received we would’ve paid an extra $60 at Eastside Mario’s, here we ended up spending about $110 before tip, these are for the more expensive dishes. that’s roughly $25 for a lot of food and we were stuffed and satisfied. I recommend this little place out-of-the-way here in Kingston. If you haven’t went yet you should go, especially if...
Read moreI had one of the worst customer service experiences at this restaurant. It was my first time there, and the setup was unclear so I wasn’t sure whether to order first, or to find a seat.
While placing my order, the staff member, who looked to be in her mid 20s, with dark brown hair kept giving me attitude and rolling her eyes for absolutely no reason. I didn’t comment on it as I assumed she might’ve been having a bad day until I had requested to dine in. She responded with an unnecessarily rude comment “If you wanted to dine in, just seat yourself and we’ll take your order.” I said “Oh I’m sorry I didn’t know” she then followed up with a condescending “Ya. This is a restaurant.” Her tone and attitude made it clear she thought my question was ridiculous, even though the setup looked more like a fast food spot than a traditional restaurant. To state the obvious, she lacks the basic professionalism to treat people with respect.
Aside from that I was truly baffled by the way this staff member had the audacity to treat a customer in this manner over something so utterly futile.
It’s disappointing that she is incompetent enough that she is unable to treat customers with respect and compassion. I strongly suggest management re-evaluate their staff’s attitude as the other reviews suggest this seems to be a recurrent problem. I haven’t returned since, and I don’t plan to...
Read moreI don’t know what it has I thought at first maybe because we’ve all had Covid pretty much, that there just doesn’t seem to be any taste in any food lately but then every once in a while I go to a place that taste fantastic, unfortunately this wasn’t one of those places, the tomato sauce that was on the spaghetti that came with my chicken Parmesan was pretty much just tomato sauce no seasoning nothing very bland, the only thing I could taste on the chicken was the oil it was cooked in my garlic toast I thought it was just toast until I got right in the very center of it then I finally could taste garlic my wife she got the chicken marsala she said that I had some good flavor I had a bite and it was OK but also her spaghetti with tomato sauce no flavor at all. my mom she got the carbonara very bland even the bacon bits that were in it didn’t have much of a flavor they were very busy with people coming in picking up orders so maybe that’s the thing get the stuff take it home and add your seasoning oh well onto the next. On a positive note they did cob my mom‘s carbonara as she didn’t even eat half of it. They were kind of busy so It did take around 35 minutes to get our food by then I was starving so sorry for no pictures...
