Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen — Restaurant in Ontario

Horrible service… I came here for large mashed potatoes and a pie, was instantly served a small mashed potato that had been sitting there for only god knows how long, so I said I had asked for a large and to get a copy of my receipt and sure enough they had tried charging me for a regular instead and when I asked for a refund and correction on my order the cashier started arguing with me and trying to insist I instead buy 2 more regular mashed potatoes to get “the same amount” which would have both cost more and not actually been less. Afterwards I finally got my refund and waited around 20 minutes for the new potatoes. Finally my brother tried ordering his meal and they refused to give him his receipt although they had been calling his order number to try to ask him a question about the order. All in all we waited around 45-60 minutes for 2 sandwiches, a popcorn shrimp and a bowl of mashed potatoes… I used to love this Popeyes when I was in highschool but unfortunately the staff has wildly declined in customer service quality over the years, will not be coming back here again.. the workers in the back made wonderful food though so 5 stars for my food...

Ordered via drive thru on a few occasions, and each time has been an “interesting experience”. Each time I repeat my order 3-4 times and then I have to make more corrections based on mistakes I see on the screen. The last time I went I ordered two orders of spicy tenders, they said it would be 5 minutes to make more - no problem! When I got to the window to pay, I had to correct the order again (despite it being right on the screen). They told me I had an order of spicy and an order of regular. When I corrected them they said it’d be 8 minutes for more, I said okay. Then they started haggling for some reason…asking if I’d be okay with 2 spicy and 4 regular. I said I’d rather have all spicy and don’t mind waiting. Then they told me they have 3 spicy and 3 regular if I want those, and I no longer had the option to wait. It was really confusing and annoying.

Food was good though, just an ordering experience that makes me want to avoid...

Although my husband and I are fans of the food, we've had several disappointments from this particular restaurant. We live over 45 minutes from town, so it's not exactly trivial for us to get an order replaced/corrected. Last time, my husband ordered the "popcorn shrimp" combo and found only about 6 or 8 pieces of shrimp in it; tonight, his fries and biscuit were completely missing! I know that I ordered - and PAID - for his meal as a combo, and I know the restaurant knew it too, as they recited my order back to me both at the speaker and again at the window. They also provided both drinks that come with combos. These mistakes, as well as the perpetually glacial-slow drive thru service (it takes me an average of 20 minutes to receive my two meals, every time, and it's never less than 10 min) mean I'm going to have to travel to one of the two other Kingston locations for my Popeyes fix.
