Discovered Pounders on the way home from Arts on Main Gallery in Picton and stopped in. It was North Docks before and now under new ownership. Hailey and Brandon Pounders, brother and sister who were born and bred in Wellington, took over the restaurant and, guess what, they called it Pounder's Waterfront Pub & Patio. There's live music and even an open mic, what days, I'm not sure. The food is great. Reasonably priced with humungous portions, catering to the locals, their friends, family and neighbours. Yet, geared for tourists coming from all destinations. Their patio is amazing and could be the best waterfront patio in Prince Edward County. They also make cocktails, sangrias and of course, support the local wineries and breweries. Beer is always cold and shots always go around. Reasonably priced again... maybe because they cater to the locals and always welcome visitors. Staff is great. The Heart of House (kitchen) is run by great chefs like Chelsea and all the kitchen personnel. All local, I think. They produce amazing food. However, if you do notice that the place is packed for dining service, keep in mind that the kitchen can only handle so much and that's not something you can easily expand. So enjoy your beverage, take in the lake view and converse with your party. You're on vacation. Front of House, not much I can say... "Great!" comes to mind and I guess works. But you know what, check out the photos I uploaded and see for yourself. Hailey, you actually win, but since you own the place, I'm giving it to Marissa. Always attentive, knows who you are and what you want. Actually, they all are great like Jada, Tylar, etc.... But, I've been seeing Marissa more often and that's probably why. Anyway, If you got this far reading, just check out Pounder's Waterfront Pub & Patio.

The reviews here are either 1 or 5 stars, so we didn't expect it to be great, but it turned out to be laughably bad. Here are the highlights: - when the server was asked what the rotating tap was, she said "Midtown". When asked which Midtown beer it was, she said "the dark one". It did not turn out to be a dark beer. - one diner ordered the butter chicken. It turns out they were out of butter chicken so they just picked satay chicken for that person instead of asking him what else he would want. - the cheese on my grilled cheese was still fridge temperature cold. I pointed it out, the server took it back and returned approx 60 seconds later with the same sandwich. I'm assuming it was microwaved, but the cheese was still cold. - the grilled cheese did not have the caramelized onions it was supposed to have on it. I assume they also ran out of that. - after coming back with my grilled cheese the server disappeared and never returned to ask us how the food was/if we needed anything. There was not enough cutlery for everyone at the table, so we shared forks. We were in good spirits so we just laughed it off, but my god was this place truly terrible.

Barb was our server and she was great, very helpful and apologetic. I don’t know how it happened but we walked in, ordered at 6:15, and got our food at 7:45. An hour and a half to get food is insane. I got the souvlaki bowl and it was terrible, it was also cold but I was so hungry at that point that I didn’t even want to send it back. It was dry and tasted awful, and my stomach immediately hurt after eating only about half of it. I only ever leave reviews if a place is amazing or truly terrible and unfortunately, I strongly recommend against anyone coming here. Thanks again to Barb, she was doing her best and was clearly working hard to protect the integrity of the establishment. She helped to make the best of a bad situation for us. Photo is of the cold food I had waited for next to my watch, because I was very disappointed by that time. Would have been a lot more forgiving if the food had been decent.

I never post anything negative, ever! However, this place was so bad, in every possible respect, I feel it's my duty to let any unsuspecting public know. First of all, I don't know how they can even call it a restaurant. It's a cafeteria at best. There is absolutely no ambiance whatsoever. The walls are white with no decoration, it is brightly lit and the live entertainment was awful! What they lacked in talent, they made up for in volume! I should have known by the menus, that looked as if they had been dropped in the street & run over by twenty tractors, that the food listed on it would be bad. Some of the printing on them was illegible. The food was even more horrible than I could have imagined and the service worse. I ordered an Avocado BLT. The bread & avocado were OK, the bacon overcooked & the tomato not yet ripe. I won't even get into the lettuce. There were 4 of us & we were given 3 napkins. I asked for gravy for my fries that came with the sandwich. It was $5 for a side of gravy. Because I was on vacation, I decided to pay the $5. When it came it was grey, had the consistency of gruel & no taste whatsoever! I sent it back. Of course, there was no ketchup on the table. The fries were ice cold anyway so it was no problem leaving them. The wine list was dismal so we ordered draft beer which came flat. We then ordered bottled beer. My boyfriend ordered a second beer which, of course, never came. To their credit, they took the $5, for whatever that was that passed for gravy, off the bill & they did not charge us for the beer that never came. The patio did look nice but it was a bit cool so we did not try it out. Whatever you do, unless you are a glutton for punisment, avoid this place...

Not sure what the food is like, as we didn't get ours.

We stopped by on a Tuesday. The patio was busy, and we were seated on the patio after waiting less than 10 minutes. Inside the restaurant there were about 3 couples. We were seated at 1:30pm, and a young server took our drink order.(just iced tea and a water). Another waitress(she was very friendly) came about 10 minutes later to take our order of a sandwich and a fish taco. At 2:20pm, we still didn't have any food. It was hot on the patio and our drink server never came back to replenish our empty glasses while we waited for our food. Finally, the drink server came over and asked if we were done with our glasses, I told her we still hadn't gotten our food. She replied "Oh, I forgot", and left. She never came back to our table to let us know about our food, or to offer to refill our glasses. Instead, she went to the other tables. We felt ignored. When another couple who had sat down about 15-20 minutes after us, were served their food, we decided to leave. It was now 2:35pm. We went inside to leave, and to pay for my iced tea. The waitress who took our food order saw us. I told her that we were leaving because we never got our order, and that other patrons who had arrived after us, had been served their food. She said sorry, and said that our food should be ready soon, and asked us if we wanted to take it with us. I said "no", as we were on motorcycles. Over the years, we have eaten here a few times, and it had always been a positive experience, and it's a nice patio, but this time it was a very...
