The restaurant closes at 9 pm but we arrived and they still took us to dine in. I got the fetuccini alfredo with shrimp, it turned out to taste quite good, the shrimp was fresh and sweet, definitely not the cooked frozen ones. My bf had the ribs and wings, he ordered it with baked potato on the side with butter. And oh boy did he get butter. They gave lots extra. The ribs were tender and moist, the wings was made fresh he had to let it cool down a bit before devouring; came with a corn on the cob too. The pub area was where we dined. Classic 50s pub look interior from the walls to ceiling to the bar height tables and rotating wooden bar height chairs. The experience was very pleasant and the servers were accomodating. No centralized AC or heat so in the mid august summer night it was a bit warm inside. They had a patio but must have closed off the area already by the time we got there. Overall i would go back and recommend this place. Casual. Relaxed. Homestyle...
Read moreIt was our first visit to this restaurant. We made reservations for Valentine's. We ordered fish with chips and lasagna with caesar salad. The fish was well prepared and fresh; its tartar coleslaw was delicious. The lasagna however was meaty and the ceasar salad was not fresh (it tasted like a pre-mix). Service was a disappointment. We were approached to order several times only minutes after being seated and then had to wait for almost 15 minutes to place our order. Waitress did not have service oriented mannerisms and smelt like a chain smoker. We expected this old century restaurant to be quaint. Instead, it was a hustle bustle joint with similar atmosphere to a bar. It had cheap decorations throughout. It also had less than ideal service and a loud obnoxious radio playing the opposite of romantic music with interjected doomsday news reports. Cost was acceptable - nothing to celebrate or criticize cost wise. But we definitely won't...
Read moreThis was our first visit to the Queens pub and I am certain it won't be our last. We met with the owner Joanne who shared with us the history of the hotel/pub and the town of Dunnville. She was truly hospitable and fun to chat with. My wife and I truly enjoyed our dinners (chicken parm and roast beef melt sandwich). The meal was filling and delicious. The pub offers a family restaurant style with a bar and pub section along with a separate room with a dance floor for the "younger" crowd. It is obvious Joanne has worked hard to maintain a pleasant atmosphere which would attract all ages of clientele. Thanks Joanne, we will be returning...
