New Amsterdam Pub — Restaurant in Ontario

If I could give this restaurant a -5 I would. My friend & I went here last night for dinner. We got there @ 6pm. It took 15 minutes for the server to bring us a glass of water & a cooler. (the cooler was wrong) we then waited 30 minutes before I asked how much longer our meal was going to be as we were in a rush. The special was a lbs of wings & I ordered a hamburger & fries. The owner went inside & did not come back. My friend then left & went to finish off our running around. I went inside & paid for our meal & asked for our meal to be put in take out container's. As I stood waiting @ the bar I saw our meal along with 3 cooks in the kitchen. I heard one of the cooks say was table 6 a take out. I spoke up & Said originally it wasn't a take out but because it took so long to get our meals I needed it to be take out. The server then took our meal & gave it to another table. I asked again how much longer was it going to be. I was then told that our meal was just being put on the grill. AFTER 45-50 MINUTES @ this point I am extremely unimpressed with everything I have just saw & asked for my $ back. I have NEVER had to ask for my $$ back when going to a restaurant. The service here is garbage. I can't tell you what the food tastes like because we never got it. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. The tables around us were complaining as well because there orders had not been taken & their cups were empty. As well when I was standing watching the goings on inside, another man was there asking when his meal was going to be ready as he had been waiting for almost an hour & he...

Today, (Tuesday August 29th, 2023) visited this pub around 1pm, been here many times before. I have to say, our waitress was terrible?! We listened to her complain to the regular customers, about other customers, and loudly enough that we heard every detail, about another couple that had just left. I've see those 2 people before as well, so I'd assume they're likely regulars? Nonetheless, then heard her complain about two other women sitting in the corner table near the front window. And on top of that? Her service was so slow, and fake. We witnessed her ROLL her eyes as she walked away even. Her and her boyfriend, who seemed quite comfortable enough to walk behind the bar with her, and into the kitchen, were both doing shots of liquor behind the bar?! Which is illegal firstly, secondly compromising the business owner and this establishment? Are they the owners, maybe they dont care about professionalism and losing business?She didn't hide it at all, the two of them were quite obvious doing their shots of I believe whiskey. I couldn't believe what we were witnessing. And not only that, in front of the entire group of customers, sitting indoors? She is slow as molasses, serving but then again.... Maybe she was drunk. Our usual waitress is the lady with the dark, I think black hair, and she is awesome, I forget her name. But this one? Unless you want your bar closed, I suggest she be reprimanded at the very least. My bf and I have never been to this place and what a huge letdown!! We were served our drinks right away BUT we order apps ( jalapeños poppers / fried pickles ) and then our mains. Which was not difficult..BLT with fries and a small Caesar salad . About 8 mins after ordering one of the waitresses mentioned that they had ran out of grilled chicken and if fried chicken was ok.. of course I said yes. My bf’s BLT came out and the waiter asked if we were sharing .. we said no. He started to eat while I waited for my salad. About 10 mins .. I asked one of the waitresses if my salad was coming. She said she would check. About 8 mins after that I told a waiter to cancel my order as my bf was pretty much done his food. We finished up and asked for our bill. We paid and left .. and noticed when we were out of area that they actually charged us for the small Caesar with added chicken ! There was literally 4 ppl on the patio not including us . Highly unprofessional and extremely disorganized if you ask me. I don’t think I’ve ever been to a restaurant where I was asked to substitute my chicken and then completely not get served and then be charged for it ! I would NOT recommend this place at all...
