The menu tries to offer vegan and gluten free options but theyâre âŚbad. They donât carry plant milk, vegan butter, vegan cheese, the beans are not gluten free, the vegan sausages arenât gluten free. The waffles and pancakes are made with water (tasteless, with no nutrition or substance to them), the toast is dry, and crumbly. I think theyâre sourcing the cheapest options possible and putting in minimal effort. When I let them know they waffles were not good and I couldnât eat them, they said they would be taken off the bill. They removed them from the table and I ordered an egg, tomato, and lettuce sandwhich on gluten free bread with hashbrowns instead since it was the only other option that was close being gluten free and vegan. Another server came over and let us know the waffles actually wouldnât be removed from our bill and there would only be a discount. We didnât want to bother arguing. When the bill came later, the discount was less than $1 off. It took 30 minutes to come out, they forgot the hashbrowns at first, the sandwhich was tasteless and dry too (explained above), and the hashbrowns were tasteless and dry as well. The only thing giving them any flavour or moisture was the oil they were cooked in. I asked my mom and boyfriend if they at least liked their meals since they donât have any dietary restrictions, and they said they felt the same about their food. No taste, very dry. Would not recommend or try them again. Hopefully they can upgrade their vegan and gluten free options or just remove them from the menu altogether. We would have picked somewhere that actually sources good ingredients and puts effort into their options if we knew it was this bad. Really disappointing and kind of...
Read moreAppalling server, we were seated by one person and no one came to our table although the server passed our table multiple times without making eye contact or acknowledging us. A simple "Hi, be with you in a moment" would have gone a long way. We flagged down another passing server to ask for menus, which she brought but still waited for the first server to come over. Was at least 20 minutes before we got coffee, and another 20 before she came to take our order. I believe they serve by section, this section had 5 - 2 person tables and 2 - 4 person tables. Only 4 tables had people at them and 3 of us waited significantly. Our breakfast was mostly very good, although the waffles were cold and undercooked. No one came back to offer coffee refills or see if our meal was to our liking. I heard them tell one gentleman, who ordered pancakes and they brought him waffles, that it was okay because waffles were like pancakes. To his credit, the gentleman graciously ate his "pancakes". Our server was terrible, she did however clean the same table 3x, time she could have spent interacting with her customers. A lovely, quaint place but was extremely disappointed in the service. There were several servers and it was not particularly busy. I understand they opened 3 weeks ago, so we will give them a one time pass and perhaps try them again...
Read moreWent for a late breakfast on a Saturday, 4 of us, the place was not terribly busy. A server pointed at a table for us, but there weren't enough chairs. We grabbed a chair from an empty table nearby. We waited over 20 minutes. No water no menus. Finally my friend went up and asked for menus. They were brought and another 5 minutes or so our waitress came. She was quite snippy with us. We ordered 2 coffees, tea, and a cold drink... When she brought it out, (tea was lukewarm, not hot) we asked for more cream. We said we like lots of cream. She came back with her pockets stuffed with creamers and literally dumped them in the dish to overflowing, with an attitude. After 40 minutes, we were finally able to order. 3 of us ordered the breakfast poutine, which was quite good. Could have been warmer, toast was cold. 1 ordered a BLT and asked for mayo on the side. It came, with mayo on the side, but also SLATHERED with mayo on the sandwich. It was way too much and she couldn't eat it. We did speak to the manager, and the BLT was comp'd, but she still had to pay for her lukewarm, undrinkable tea. I wouldn't go back, I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. It's a shame really, because the food for the most part was good. I don't appreciate...
