Roast 'N Toast Family Diner — Restaurant in Ontario

This is already by far my favourite breakfast in Windsor I still have yet to try their dinner but I have been going here for years. Food is absolutely delicious!!!!! Their home fries is what makes this place so unique. Can’t find better elsewhere! Had to share this amazing customer service I just got with their friendly staff. I just placed an order on skip the dishes and put it in at a reasonable time and skip gave me the driver right away but it wasn’t changing and it still said 30 minutes for order when I placed it a long time ago. I figured it was just skip but roast n toast went out of their way to give me a call and let me know that they were having difficulties with the driver as it did not update so they would try to get me a new driver to deliver this food. She apologized even though it wasn’t her fault and let me know that she will remake it when they find a new driver. Meanwhile they closed in 15 minutes and the app still said 30. The staff is always soooo friendly, goes above and beyond and remade my food, talked to skip to get me a new driver to deliver it, STAYED past the closing time :( and on top of that gave me a 6 pack of raisin and pecan tarts when I received my order just for the inconvenience of not their fault but skips. This is an amazing restaurant that I frequent often. The kitchen puts out great food and the restaurant is a force for good in the community. The atmosphere is great and it pulls off small town diner quite well.

Their staff is typically quite good, especially during the week. Today was a different story. Our waiter came only after someone else took our drink order, and seemed far more preoccupied with doing busy work than actually waiting on our table. He did not bring our food. He did not do a check back. He did not bring the bill. He was utterly unconcerned with providing competent service of any kind. The only two people who seemed to take any meaningful notice of our table were young Indian man they had bussing tables and the kind lady from the kitchen. The kitchen did their job. Well we got there and noticed it was small which is fine there were only about 8 people there in total. We then sat down and ordered only to have our waitress tell us after we ordered it would be 45 mins (was actually a hour). 45 minutes went by and the old couple next to us who mind you didn’t even get a refill for their coffee got pissed and left because people that came there after them got served food first, but we waited. After the old couple left we could hear the employees bashing them which is just terrible. We got our BREAKFAST after a HOUR! The food was probably the worst breakfast food I’ve had in the city!
