We went to Royal Malabar Restaurant around 4 PM and were initially worried that we had missed the buffet, as it was nearing closing time. To our surprise, the staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and ensured we still had a full dining experience.

A special appreciation to Linsa, who delivered outstanding service from the moment we walked in. Despite it being the end of buffet hours, she made sure we had access to everything available. Not only did she guide us through the buffet options with a warm smile, but she also took extra care in making sure we were well attended to throughout. She consistently checked in on us, ensuring our needs were met, and we felt truly looked after. Her hospitality was top-tier — gracious, polite, and genuinely caring.

Adding to the great experience, the owners themselves came over to greet us, which was such a nice personal touch. They were incredibly friendly and welcoming, which speaks volumes about the kind of atmosphere they’ve cultivated at Royal Malabar.

Now, coming to the food — it was absolutely delicious. Every dish we tried was flavorful, freshly prepared, and of excellent quality. Even toward the end of the buffet window, the food was warm and well-stocked. From starters to desserts, everything was a delight to the taste buds.

We truly appreciate how customer satisfaction is clearly a priority here, and Linsa is a shining example of that dedication. Her commitment to making sure we had the best experience deserves special recognition.

Highly recommended! Whether you’re visiting for the buffet or à la carte, Royal Malabar offers fantastic food, great ambiance, and exceptional service. We’ll...

I had the pleasure of dining at Royal Malabar Fine Indian Cuisine in London, Ontario, and it truly exceeded my expectations. Without a doubt, this is the best South Indian restaurant in the city.

We ordered a variety of dishes—Prawns Coconut Fry, BDF, Fish Nirvana, Idiyappam, Tandoori Platter, and Beef Biriyani. Each dish carried authentic flavors that reminded me of traditional South Indian cooking.

The Prawns Coconut Fry was rich and flavorful, with the perfect balance of coconut creaminess and spices.

BDF (Beef Dry Fry) was outstanding—spiced just right with that authentic Kerala touch.

Fish Nirvana lived up to its name, a truly heavenly preparation with tender fish and a silky gravy.

The Idiyappam was soft, fresh, and the perfect complement to the curries.

The Beef Biriyani was aromatic and delicious, layered with spices and tender beef pieces.

The Tandoori Platter, while decent, felt average compared to the other stellar dishes—but everything else more than made up for it.

What sets Royal Malabar apart isn’t just the food, but also the ambience and service. The restaurant has a warm, welcoming atmosphere, and the staff go above and beyond to make you feel comfortable. The service is prompt, attentive, and genuinely friendly.

If you are looking for authentic, flavorful South Indian food in London, Ontario, look no further. Royal Malabar is a gem, and I can’t wait to return and explore more of their menu. Highly...

We finally decided to check out Royal Malabar Fine Dine in Downtown London — a newly opened spot from which we’ve already ordered Fish Nirvana several times via Uber Eats. Dining in turned out to be a great choice, made even better when we were greeted by a familiar face — Eupen, whom we fondly remember from our visits to Rascals :)

True to form, Eupen was the perfect host. Courteous and attentive, he made our evening memorable and even took time to note our feedback on the food — a thoughtful and sincere gesture on his part.

As for the food, we thoroughly enjoyed every dish: the crispy veg pakoras and Chicken 65, perfectly spiced sardine fry, and the standout Malabar fish curry with tasty Kerala parottas. We wrapped up our meal with warm delicious gulab jamuns.

If there’s one small suggestion, it would be about the masala tea — it leaned a bit too much on the milky side and could use a stronger hit of spice for that signature masala punch.

A big thanks to Eupen for letting us know about the upcoming buffet service — we’re definitely looking forward to that! Wishing him, the chef, and the entire team continued success and a growing fan base!

Highly recommend this place if you’re craving delicious Indian food in a setting that’s both neat and beautifully done, with ample seating to enjoy your...

Flavour Explosion! The Best Buffet in London, ON I was just passing through London, and decided to take a break at Royal Malabar for lunch. I was completely blown away! The spread was generous, thoughtfully curated, and packed with flavour—every dish felt like it had a story. The ambience deserves a special mention too—modern, elegant, and refreshingly upscale, creating a relaxed yet polished dining atmosphere. It’s clear a lot of care has gone into both the decor and the overall dining experience. Now to the food highlights: The mutton soup was rich and soul-warming. Fish Nirvana—perfectly cooked and luxuriously spiced. Angamaly mango curry brought a tangy, earthy twist I’ve rarely seen done this well. Dragon chicken delivered a bold, spicy kick with just the right amount of crunch. And the mutton chops—tender, flavourful, and simply addictive. Top it all off with outstanding service—attentive, friendly, and professional. The price was incredibly economical for the quality and variety offered. If you're anywhere near London, Ontario and love bold, authentic Indian flavours, Royal Malabar is a must-visit. I’ll definitely be going back soon.

We recently visited this restaurant hoping for a good experience based on our previous visit during Onam Sadhya, which was genuinely enjoyable. Unfortunately, this time was a complete letdown. We ordered Chicken 65 and Mutton Biryani — both were extremely dry, hard, and lacked flavor. The meat was tough and nearly inedible. When we brought this to the staff’s attention, their response was surprisingly rude. We were told, "The chef says it's cooked like this," with no willingness to even acknowledge our concern. In an attempt to make up for it, they replaced our order with Chicken Fried Rice. Sadly, it was no better — the chicken pieces were once again hard and undercooked. We raised our concerns again, only to be met with more indifference. What’s worse, we were still charged for all the dishes, including the ones that were clearly subpar and we had literally 2 spoons out of it. This experience was disappointing, especially after the good impression we had from the Onam Sadhya. Consistency, food quality, and customer service are clearly lacking. We won’t be returning unless there is a serious improvement in both food standards and chef’s attitude.
